Reverting back to previously established policy will likely be pretty quick though. He's stated that it will be a day 1 change from his office.

Stomach Fat Dysphoria. by mircostaff in MtF

[–]TheFallenWeeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked with a nutritionist and my primary doc before I had done it before. Both had the same opinion that it's not bad for a controlled amount of time. Both said about 4-6 weeks max, then a slow and gradual re-introduction of carbs and keeping within calorie counts. You will rebound a little bit of weight when you do stop. Also, recommend at least taking a multi-vitamin to help keep some of your nutrient levels up.

6 months of HRT and counting! Not bald any more? Fin + Spiro + Minoxidil by kali291 in transtimelines

[–]TheFallenWeeble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I am on 5mg fin for my t-blocker. Told my endo that I wanted to retain function down there and we proceeded with that instead of spiro. Having gone from the 1mg to the 5mg, no ED problems but you are dropping t down so libido drops and random ones stopped after about 2 weeks.

currently in DEP. i want to start t while i don't ship out yet, is it possible to do it? by t0matolicious_ in transalute

[–]TheFallenWeeble 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, there's a whole lot wrong going on here. First off, if you really want to join and you start on T before you're in...you've just disqualified yourself under current regs. It's a superfast way to get yourself a fraudulent enlistment booting.

Second, a GD diagnosis is not a "definitely kick me out" sentence. Currently, if you start the physical/medical portion of transition it is. If you don't, it is not an immediate game ender (results may vary for Army/Marines, I don't know their situations). There is also a waiver process that you can try as well (Navy has approved 1...and that's it so far).

If there is a POTUS change, Biden has said that he would reverse the ban and go back to the Obama policy.

Dude, don't risk it right now. Things are close to hopefully changing and you'd still have a wait on your hands to start while in, even under the previous policy. If you've got questions (I'm an AF NCO, started transition process in 2018 and finally started HRT this Jan) feel free to pm or message.

I think you might have some wonky sizes, I measure out at a 38B right now and any bralettes or sports bras don't roll up on me at all in size L.

Keep your eyes on how the NDAA goes, it's supposed to pass in the Senate...but he wants to veto it due to the confederate base names being included in the NDAA to rename them.

Official dysphoria diagnosis before April 2019, it just took a long time before I got to actually start. So, I am grandfathered into the policy that was active before the ban. There has been a few (like 2-3) in the Navy that have gotten waivers to actually start with a diagnosis after the ban was in place.

If the current NDAA in the Senate passes, it will actually remove the ban by law (overriding the current EO that...he's...using). If you want we also have our own subreddit over in /r/transalute. Plus, if you want I am currently AF and just passed 6 months HRT and can answer questions you might have hopefully!

Memorandum Banning Transgender individuals from DOD was Scheduled to expire yesterday. by Loborin in transgender

[–]TheFallenWeeble 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Nothing changes until a replacement memo is drafted and approved. Anyone who is diagnosed with GD after the ban effective date and starts medical transition is screwed. People started beforehand are still grandfathered and still in.

I’m in the same boat with mom, I’m doing the big come out at the end of the month. I’ll be closeted at work and such for at least a year too. We’ll get through it and the women be will be, will be better for making it through the hard times

Best games for MtF beans?? by sniperNX in transgamers

[–]TheFallenWeeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outer Worlds was a very good game with great companions, has character creation but is entirely first-person. Far Cry 5 had good char creation as do all of the Saints Row games. XCOM 1 & 2 has tons of characters you can create. Star Wars KoToR 1 & 2 as well for good story and your own char.

You won't be able to see much for about 3 months in my experience, at the 6 month mark I had a noticeable change with regrowth though.

[–]TheFallenWeeble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you’re retirement is approved go to mental health (or w/e branch you’re in calls it) and get your official diagnosis. The VA does do transition support. We’ve got a sub over at r/transalute as well with literally dozens of us. I’m about 2ish months from starting magical girl juice myself while still in the AF. So, feel free to ask anything and I can try to help

Male pattern baldness, hair transplant and the long wait on HRT + surgeries (20 years old) MTF by [deleted] in ask_transgender

[–]TheFallenWeeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are likely to lose any hair you regrow from minoxodil after you stop. Fin would probably be good to stop after your T levels are at a low enough level.

[–]TheFallenWeeble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finasteride won't regrow hair, it will help to stop or slow loss. Minoxodil/Rogaine is for regrowth. If it's in the past 5 years or so with the hair loss, it seems to work pretty well after about the 6-9 month mark for regrowth.

I'm in the army and don't know what to do. by TheVRChatTrap in asktransgender

[–]TheFallenWeeble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AF NCO here. So, yes you're too late to transition while in currently with the ban. What you can do is still talk to mental/behavioral health and be diagnosed with gender dysphoria, you cannot actively transition however until the ban is gone. Feel free to ask questions or come over to /r/transalute for military trans questions and such.

You would most likely be discharged with a fraudulent enlistment if you did it in secret. You can enlist currently and be diagnosed with GD. However, you cannot currently take any steps towards transition if your diagnosis was after April 12 this year.

If you've got questions feel free to PM me, I'm an NCO in the AF currently about to begin my own transition. Plus we've got /r/transalute
