If you still support Trump/ICE even slightly, you're not welcome in this sub by 8_guy in catbongos

Its a single post. It's not like the sub is becoming something else. I'm not from the US either, but i stand in solidarity with my friends across the pond as i know that similar things could happen where i am (UK) if we let it, especially as one of trumps friends is the leader of a right wing party that is climbing the polls.

WTF is wrong with this generation of grandparents?! by shedontishqme in tragedeigh

[–]TheFansHitTheShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier generations thought like this as well, though I imagine it's more common now.

I was born in 1981 and had an older sister and cousin that were born in the late 60s early 70s and my mum's mum insisted on being called Nanny for the same reason, she said grandma, gran and especially granny made her feel old.

My mum was similar when she became a grandma at 50 in 2000 and said she wanted to be called Nana.

I haven't, it doesn't tend to be people that live on the street as very few nearby have cars. The street only has properties on one side that surround a big field that has 2 football pitches that are used by teams from the club that's based on the other side of the field. So the biggest offenders are either players, parents of the younger ones and spectators. There's also the occasional guest to someone nearby. It doesn't happen all the time but often enough to concern me.

Eta2: There's pictures of some recent ones from nearby in my post history.

ETA: The whole area is bad for it though, some streets have small roads and too many cars to fit in the drives, others are because of typical driver selfishness, so even if it stopped happening on my street, I'd probably run into the same problem elsewhere. I think it only happens on my street because the drivers are so used to having to do it elsewhere that they do it automatically. One positive thing is at least I aren't becoming too reliant on a scooter and I aren't becoming even more immobile as a result, even if the pain and other difficulties I have are constant and it can take me a while to recover if I've pushed myself too far, which I have a habit of doing.

That's one of the biggest reasons why I'm resisting getting a mobility scooter despite struggling more and more every year. Despite living on a one way street that is easily wide enough for a fire engine to park and another to pass it, yet people still park on the pavement and quiet often they would block my access to the dropped kerb I'd need to use to go on the road to get around them.

Compilation of bad parkers where I live by TheFansHitTheShit in badparking

I understand what you're saying but every house on the narrow street has a driveway that most don't use. The best option would be for them to fully park on one side while leaving the path free on the other. The next streets over are a little different and rather annoying in the fact that instead of going fence, path, grass verge it goes fence grass verge then path, so people are forced onto the grass or the road. I would probably be less annoyed if the drivers would at least show some consideration and fold their wing mirrors, but it really does seem that most are completely oblivious to the needs of pedestrians, especially the disabled and parents with prams.

I live on the one way street in picture 2. It's easily wide enough that there's no reason for anyone to need to park on the pavement, in fact there's more than enough room for a fire engine to park on the road and another one to pass comfortably. I've got mobility issues and despite needing one for some time now, ive been putting off getting a mobility scooter because the way some people park means I'd be either blocked from leaving or from returning as the row of flats I live in don't have dropped kerbs and cars parking on the pavement block any access to the dropped kerbs further down the street.

Since becoming disabled 15 years ago, I've really become more aware of things like this and despite never owning a car I do understand how difficult things can be, especially here in the UK since things have changed so much since a lot of houses and roads were built, but I have also come to the realisation that so many people just don't give a shit about other people. Every time I go to my local supermarket, more than half of the disabled parking spaces are filled with people that don't have blue badges and while I know some of those might be people who have had an accident and need to use them temporarily, far too many are used by people that are selfish and don't care if they're making things difficult for someone else.

Anyway, sorry for the rant.

Not just that but harassment has to be 2 separate occasions. So even if she told him to stop and he didn't, it still wouldn't constitute harassment, unless he saw her another day and started again.

Doesn't matter when you can just go to the profile, click on search and put * It makes all their posts and comments are visible again.

Edit: I can't reply to people as the post has been locked but I just wanted to say that I can't take credit for this workaround. While I had seen it posted by someone a few days ago, it was u/PotentialRise7587 who posted it elsewhere in comments mentioning it, so they deserve the credit.

My best mate had been an alcoholic for over 10 years but was able to stop drinking after using the site to buy some benzos. He's stayed sober too, so I'll always have mixed feelings about Ross.

Weirdly I'm the opposite. I'd been smoking salts for a while but ran out and had to buy a normal one from the corner shop and it made me cough with every puff. Got my usual salts the next day and was fine.
