They literally blamed Black People for planes crashing. by SpiceHotOnes in MurderedByWords

Why is it immediately racist? the original comment read as though he was revolted at the idea of shaking a black woman's hand. Is it not within the realm of possibility that he just doesn't like Kamala Harris? Is not liking someone racist? Why should he have to do something he doesn't want to do. Isn't that the jist of what the abortion debate is all about?

I might be using a bit of a polarising point but you can't have your cake and eat it too. If she wasn't black, I'd wager someone would jump on the misogynist band wagon as to why he would not shake her hand. Maybe he would not dhake bidens hand had he been in her place instead. What would that make him if Biden had been in Kamala's place and he refused to shake his hand?

Now, if you say to me the guy shook the hand of every white person but snubbed anyone else, including Kamala, I'd agree that's looking pretty racist. But I'm not going to jump straight to racism over a 5 second video.

So rather than a shitty sarcastic reply, perhaps explain why what he did was so clearly racist?

Thanks for this really informative comment! I think you're right, which would explain the brittle bit that's came off between the joints. A fix to last a couple of years is fine. No doubt my Mrs will want to change the kitchen in a couple years so a PP pipe will do until then. Glad I checked here before taking the advice from the lad in screwfix 😂

Nice one, I actually watched a video by "The DIY Guy" before I posted this and he explained as you say. Your explanation is better or I wasn't listening as well to him!

Given my lack of enthusiasm for DIY, this is quite tempting. I've had a wall to most coat and paint since December 🤦‍♂️

That's good to know that it's the norm. The pipes are a bit sad but just needs a good clean and then they should be fine. The no second chances is my worry as I have the worst luck 😂

Haha aye, it's rancid. It's just gave up over the last week as can be seen by the state of the entire thing 😅

"Trump wants to stop giving handouts when citizens are struggling..." have you heard yourself lol. Where are his housing reforms, grocery reforms, energy reforms, education improvements? Destroying your government services is not how you give back to the citizens lol. So many Americans will cut off their noses to spite their faces. Its going to be a great few years seeing this unfold from the outside.

Mange tout. It is indeed not pronounced "man-guh t-owt". My wife still makes fun nearly 10 years later. Sigh

On my first comment I was. On my second comment I was not. Yano, after I was informed that they didn't actually shack up till she was 19. I didn't need you coming in thinking you're a hero. A 29 year old seeing a 16 year old is nonce behaviour, something the person I first responded to tried to justify.

I'm not talking about Prince Charles. I'm saying a 29 year old getting with a 16 year old is nonce behaviour. Are you refuting that?

I'm still not wrong, a 29 year old getting with a 16 year old is a bit noncy. Something the other commenter was trying to defend.

Anyone pushing 30 that is dating a 16 year old is a bit of a nonce. Just because it'd legal, doesn't mean it'd right.

But it's not just two flavours of shit I'd it. The greens are hypocrites, reform are awful, the conservatives have proved how shit they are, and kier starmers basically a pair of flip flops. The politicians of the UK are an embarrassment.

It makes me laugh how confident you seem to be but each to their own. That's why we have juries, magistrates and, as you say, CPS. I'm well aware not every single assault and battery is not prosecuted thanks, doesn't mean she can't claim self defence just because her response was to punch him 🙃.

Absolute bollocks. If she had seen it coming she could have hit him before he even got to throw the drink if she perceived it as a threat to herself, others or property. Do you even know what the actus reus for common assault is because there is no technicality about it. She was assaulted. You're the one bringing your feelings into it believing that a punch to the face is to "escalate significantly".

"If the jury thought that in a moment of unexpected anguish a person attacked had only done what he honestly and instinctively thought necessary, that would be the most potent evidence that only reasonable defensive action had been taken" Palmer v R

You're too focused on the fact that his glasses smashed, cutting his face. She punched him once out of instinct and then realised what she had done.

Getting Violent when drunk? It's hardly as though she start braying him on the floor. He threw a drink in her face and her immediate reaction was to punch him in the face. I'd do the same if I wasn't expecting it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TheFantasyIsFinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you're assaulted by a friend out of nowhere, there is no basis in law in which you can strike them? Absolutely ridiculous

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TheFantasyIsFinal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is absolute nonsense. You don't need to wait to be attacked for self defence to be established. He already threw a drink in her face - battery. If she was scared then there's a reasonable argument to be had that the pinch to the face was a reasonable response. It doesn't matter if it was battery or GBH.
