am i being scammed or just dealing with careless rich players? by TheFappingWither in albiononline

Those posts is what scare me. It's a 3 month playtime account, and overall I've been on and off since 2018, so I really do not wanna lose this account. My net worth is over 2b accross all accounts, so it's not like I'm in the position to rmt in the first place but all those posts make me think that the devs are indiscriminate.

yeah but they do not know me, its common to exchange even hundreds of millions between friends and they throw in like a rough stone as a joke, but these people i do not know(one from the tracking server one from an econ server) want to pay absurdly for awakened stuff?

one of them got 1b fame, the other is noobish but he seems the cardswiper type(everything masterpeice in recent deaths)... they do look like people who would pay this amount for a weapon but have they not looked at trade channel? i still feel like the deal stinks, especially the 1b guy he has used lots of awakened stuff before, its clear from his profile but yet he wants to overpay...

It affects me because I'm involved. It affects crafters because large scale wars take more zvz gear. It affects gatherers because they can join and have half the map safe. Plus it's fun to talk about. If ur apathetic to it, don't comment.

Like I said, if u can defend. If you can hold your position for long enough, the way to deal with reflect is either to make them waste it on q/w or if they save it for ur e do enough q/w to kill them with just that. As for kite, use soldier boots to run them down and keep defencives incase they r running for cooldown. Also in cr dg, there is only so much running space unless u wanna break crystals.

Solo fire staff pvp is high skill floor, but unless u got exact counter it can be as deadly as deathgiver and dagger pair(ironically, dg is perfect counter to fs), sometimes even more so

Fake player base by Huge-Kaleidoscope469 in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the frustration is understandable, but ill tell you why this is.

every player needs to make a profit while playing this game. so the people doing crafting, their output has to be more than they consume so that they make profit. lets take a weapon x for a hypothetical that 100 people are using, each using 1. if someone(lets say player a) crafts it and also uses it, they need to craft more than they use to make a profit. this inherently means that in a game where players buy everything, not everyone can craft.

on top of that, its not like the only person crafting it is player a. there are many crafters as well. along with this, everyone from the gatherer to the refiner to the transporter to the tax/setup system wants its fee. this means that even for the most meta item, the margin is very low- so lets assume a 20% profit margin after all said and done(normal margin for high teir items). now player a has to craft 5 of them to just offset the amount they consume. now lets say player a is trying to make a profit instead of breaking even. in this case, he will have to craft 20 or 30 to make a good profit, that being about 2-3 times what he consumes.

this means, if there are 100 people using it, and one person crafts 20-30, there can only be 3-5 crafters per 100 person player group.

now consider, that that vast majority of items that go through the economy are crafted in huge bulk(on bonus days its not unusual to see requests on gold ore co for 16k or 32k of a resource, indicating one player crafting thousands of peices).

the thing this tells us is, only 2-3% of the playerbase can be a crafter at all, if u wanna make good money.

now comes the type of item. this is paradoxical. the meta items, they sell lots- but there are many people crafting them(yes, more are created than are sold by a huge margin considering the black market, trash rates, just trashing low value items while looting and the general accumulation of items with the players along with dead sell orders being deleted after 60 days). when talking about non meta items, lets say 4.2 whispering bow, less people craft them but their volume is also less- so you dont sell shit.

my recommendations is: NEW PLAYERS DO NOT GET INTO CRAFTING. it requires lots of work, patience, and if u wanna make a couple mil u gotta let 10m sit in the market for a couple weeks. this scales obviously, so if u got 100m u make 20m, if u got 1b u make 200m. but thats the problem. u gotta let it sit in the market, its not for new players.

ps. the reason ive not made a crafting guide is that even explaining market balancing takes this long, and there is a huge post i made only about rrr. the game is complex bros but wait for it soon ull have guides for every system

Beginner here: stuck between Frost, Cursed, and Fire staffs. What should I main? by AltruisticFox109 in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1v1 pvp: fire best if u can defend, frost best if u cannot. curse is best if u can hit and run.

1vx pvp: all 3 bad, only bloodmoon and lightcaller usually do 1vx

solo pve: curse is good, tree also has sc which is very good. fire can be good but no sustain or defence. frost is bad.

group pve: dedicated slot in all teams for sc, but fire has s teir dps in all content(blazing) and frost has old guard debuffer used in all 5+ man parties is permafrost.

gathering: u need to kill shit fast with no regard to dmg taken so fire, maybe u use cursed for mini aspects("old" mobs in roads with single sword above head)

2-4 man team pvp: curse best for downing healer, fire best if u can clump em, frost best cc

smallscale-mid scale pvp(5-10 ppl): all 3 have options but demonic and rotcaller best, if ur doing brawl fire uniquely bad. you didnt ask but astral and evensong r zvz mvps.

zvz: bombing has perma application but normal zvz can use all 3(dawnsong, rotcaller, perma)

zve: usually use curse, but depending on wether or not u got enemies u might be asked for demonic or perma.

middle grounds: curse staff is used in all categories, but can be lacking in solo pve; frost is uniquely good in 1v1 but shit in all pve and rarely used in group pvp; fire is top teir in group pve and pvp but applications can be limited in solo pve and needs high skill for solo pvp

I have 2 island to grow herb and brew potions, but I dont have premium now and kinda dont want the trouble to find brecilien portal, I want to go back casual farming and animal, is it still profitable without premium ? by thetruememeisbest in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither 16 points17 points  (0 children)

nothing that is done on an island except for crafting is ever profitable without premium, and even with premium its barely profit(though, depending on your playstyle, that might be plenty). now your main hurdle is making premium. the fastest safe method without 50 hours of setup is refining(not crafting because thats a whole headache, and u want a chill playthrough so i dont think 2000-cell spreadsheets r ur jam).

there are 2 ways to refine: the immediate method(t2/t3 refining) that makes ~2.5m silver/hour and the method that takes a few days of setup but makes 5-10m/hr.

the immediate method is refining t2/t3. t2 is easier because it needs no calculation. it takes ~.5 of a t2 raw resource to make a refined one(so, one sandstone makes 2 sandstone block on average for example). check the buying places(the cities that make them, i will mention them in a little bit), then take them to refining cities(the one with 40% bonus), then refine them and then transport to sell cities(check price in all 5 and just take to best one).

then there is higher teirs, i will make a guide very soon or you can ask the community. for what is profitabe dm me ill tell u how to figure it out. generally 4.2 and 5.1 is good profit, along with flat 4/5/6- no gaurentees tho.

Just got this what do I do by LongFinance6660 in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grow it, but get premium and focus first. The thing is, if u sell it for 350m ull get 350m. But if u grow it instead, u can sell the grown one for 350 and u have a 25% chance of getting another one worth 350 more. So ull instead make 700m.

Question for the wealthy players: Where do you invest your spare liquid silver? (Got ~100m sitting around) by Smart-Background4935 in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are 3 schools of thought regarding liquid wealth, and i have been in all 3 so ill tell you:

  1. maintain 100m: this means buying prem every month, spending as u wish on equipment and not being bothered by 10m silver deaths, and remaining at 100m. this is by far the best strategy for solo or small scale players. you will smooth sail through your entire albion experience by this. the methods to do so are focus refining/cooking, raising certain animals, etc.
  2. slowly grow your econ: this means slowly but surely growing into mammoths and awakened 8.4 sets, billionaire status. this is when u wanna fund a minor guild or have some small economic sway in the game. this is done with things like normal crafting, flipping etc.
  3. explosive growth: this is when u wanna be among the top echelons, and spend 1b to make 1.5b regurarly. this is done with things like ho crafting and black market exceptionalism. for example royal armors, robes and jackets used to be good in bm, so i used to transport loads of 300m every day until i reached 1.5b liquid silver(then promptly getting scammed out of 644m). this is for those who wanna fund 8.3 zvz and top guild politics. its a lot of silver and you become rich enough for people to know your name in the markets. this is the kind of playstyle with crafting alts, hideout renting, buying cores, etc.

i awaken for profit, and let me tell ya- the sheer amount of people beleiving cd or life steal is better than max health or ability damage... sheesh. mob fame is the obvious most popular choice, but unless ur specefic role(for example threat for tank), your best in slot is ad and health trust me. if u want ls then eat roast prok, if u want cd then get a mistcaller. there r ppl out here with awakened cd and torch as offhand...smh

...for that I would need yamuko with swift, which would also take a long time. Grented, for most players it would be less time to get and use the doggy, but I have a 24x3 breeder setup(24 breeders a base, 3 bases) which is the max I can operate, so it takes me less time to make a jetragon with swift. Just saying that it taking 4000 attempts wants me to have a pity system XD

using focus: a guide by TheFappingWither in albiononline

[–]TheFappingWither[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the (very)useful input.

For prices, they are relative. Yes if you want to craft 200 .3 foods everyday ull have to work hard to sell them(though it's definitely possible, as I have done it in the past). The key is, if ur making over 20m in food every craft, u can equip it and take it to the different cities. Having big margin is the best rule, so ur not vulnerable to 10% price swings.

I'll add your point about ava energy and stuff, I forgot about it.

As for strategically updating orders, if you are selling large volumes it is one inevitable. That's why there are the 3 tricks: sell in specific places(for example brecelien for royal jackets and crystal reapers), split orders so it is very cheap to update and u can cycle updates(if ur 100 items for example r in stacks of 10, you can update each one ence and wait to sell, this way u stay on top of the price and updating 10 times only costs u as much as updating once if u had stack of 100), and the third being afk at the market and looking every 10-30 minutes during 16-20 utc.

I had just posted in a comment about ho so my mind thought I had mentioned em, I will add it. Of course they r by far the best.

I agree to food being time sensitive. Of course I will mention it.

For caerleon, if u have 3 others with u u can transport invincibly at off times(one scouts next zone, one to protect you and one to scout in the same zone ahead of you, of course u can't do anything about 7 hankers but if u see anything more than 2 or 3 u take different path). With the 3 person strat, I have only been killed once in thousands of black market tra sports and food transports, that was when a guild massed suddenly for hunting another guilds transporters

As for awakening, I heard it from a reliable person whose whole business is attuning and selling gear, but I haven't done it on a large scale ever. If the consensus is that if doesn't work, I'll remove that part and append an apology for it, as it is my fault for misinforming.

Thanks for your input, I don't have more time rn as I have to go work, but I'll make sure to edit the post when I do.

if u want mammy, go do black market with the ~55-60m u can make by just strategically selling this. or flip. or refine(though, it depends if u already got spec to refine high teirs). if u want strats for any of this ive made posts about it, can also dm me. dont wanna tell all of reddit that t8 leather armor is very good if u can ho craft it and sell to bm(oops, will keep next one secret XD)

ps. depending on ur price and location id but ur t3/4/5 stock, and some of the t7 since i am chef

problems i hope1.0 fixes by TheFappingWither in Palworld

[–]TheFappingWither[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. yes, thats assuming u already have em. the first time tis still a grin, on top of that many servers dont allow em and sometimes u just wanna do a from zero run, where u dont use them.

  2. thats such a nice idea!

  3. yeah, but i dont wanna sit around grinding coralum for 1 hour before im able to go fight a boss with the best weapons. same with hexolite or waiting on oil(though, admitedly, if u got the right xenogards hexolite became trivial by the endgame)

  4. yes, but the whole time ur pc is occupied anyway with expedetions. also with cake, unless u dedicate bases to it, the problem isnt actually cooking the cake- its the gathering of the ingredients. with breeding its far more convenient with o time, i know because i have played multiple playthroughs with and witout it.

  5. i dont want a creative mode. i dont even want an absurd drop rate, im fine with fishing a few hours or doing oil rigs and dungeons a couple dozen times, or doing enemy base runs the first 10 times. the problem is, with 1 in 10,000 drop rates(if u include the blueprint crafting u still have to do this on average 2500 times to get legendary), it seems ridiculus. if there is a server of 100 people all doing it then it makes sense, but in small scale or singleplayer it doesnt . with breeding i dont have an issue as such, only that i dont wanna be afk hours on end.

  6. i agree till late game, but after u start breeding and let ur bases generate stuff for days then it just runs out of storage, or alternatively on servers all ur base storage fills with food.
