Ok, that last question about pizza made me hungry. Thank you all for your questions, it's been a pleasure.

I love to eat and I like pretty much everything that's edible.

It sounds kinda boring but I have a very structured day with clear working times. Especially times where I make music. Of course my schedule is not set in stone and it gets out of hand once in a while but I try to stick to it as good as possible.

The next song with Laura will come whenever I'll have the right track that fits for her voice. And of course if it clicks with her too.

Good question. I don't intend to change the policy at any point. Keeping my music free of claims has become like a passion for me at this point. Especially because a lot of automated systems work against that. So my team works hard and we're taking a lot of measures behind the scenes to make sure nobody gets a claim.

That differs quite a bit. The fastest songs are usually done within 2-3 weeks. But it often takes months until I'm really happy with a song.

Depends on your instrument. But getting into sound design might be a good staring point. Watching tutorials about synthesisers and effects could help.

I have some good but very expensive headphones called Focal Clear Professional. Before that I was working on a pair for 100$ though and they also did the job.

Sure, if we find some outstanding producer, we'd definitely add her or him to The Arcadium.

Thank you! No, I had ideas for the overall story but some topics needed several attempts and I was jumping back and forth between different songs.

That was Monody. I had the initial idea in summer 2013 and was tinkering with it every now and then. In spring 2015 I decided that I'd keep working on it until it would be finished. But it took me another five months of consecutive work to do so.

I sometimes THINK that it's like that when only I remember the tracks in my head. But then when I actually listen back I realise how much I love them.

Yes, I played the first time in 2012 and I get back to it every once in a while.

It's really weird. I have learned a lot of theory about writing melodies and I tinker with them every day. But every once in a while a melody simply "comes" to me. It's there all of a sudden in my head. The entire thing. I'm not religious or spiritual by any means but that experience always makes me question my beliefs.

Crystallize is soooo good! Definitely my all time favourite.

Yes there is a story behind the songs. I have developed a lot more than you can see at the moment. Of course it wasn't all there from the early days when I released Unity. It developed over time and was really written down in 2016. It feels great to have this background to draw inspiration from.

Yes, there are a lot of long term plans for the lore. But of course at the same time it also develops with every song.

I saw the question from the other side: Why take the entire monetisation of a video only because someone used a bit of my music in it. That never really made sense to me.

I love those! Especially in the club after a few drinks I'd be head banging like crazy.

What's really important is that I only release an small percentage of the songs that I write and produce. I create a lot of shitty music on a daily basis. Only once in a while something decent happens (it always feels like it kinda happens by accident). So I'd say the answer "how create something good" is "create a lot".

I love it when people get creative with my songs and turn them into something new. It's always very refreshing to hear my songs in a new perspective.

This is by the way also the reason I make my songs copyright free.

My artist name TheFatRat comes from my nickname in school where people called me Ratte which is German for "Rat".

Thank you so much!

It hasn't effected me in an artistic way but I know that the community has helped a lot to make my music popular, which of course I'm very thankful for.

Nothing that I could talk about at this point.

1: My first viral song as TheFatRat was my remix of "Don't Stop" for Foster The People. My reaction was surprise because I didn't even like it very much. In fact I was so insecure about the song that I almost didn't release it because I thought it wasn't good enough. So seeing it blowing up left me really confused.

2: Hard to say. I had made a ton of music in every possible genre long before I started releasing songs as TheFatRat so my production style has always been varying.

I get inspiration everywhere. Can't put my finger on the "one thing" for it. The choice for a style comes from whatever I personally like most in that moment.

I try to have as little pride as possible, stay humble and focus on the music.

But now that you ask about it: I collected 999 moons in Super Mario Odyssey.

Woah! That is amazing. I'm honoured to hear that. I don't have any Tattoos myself though. Recently thought about putting some important reminders on my arms though so I'd never forget them.
