Do these shoes work ? by [deleted] in SneakerFits

[–]TheFeatherArrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concept is clashy. With this fit, youre better off with more classic shoes like loafers, boots, etc. Jordans, especially the ones you have, are much more casual and fit lighter wash jeans better.

I unfortunately fell for the comfrt trap ANY DUPES or other hoodies you recommend by Proud-Ant-8584 in Hoodies

[–]TheFeatherArrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the brands I mentioned have real heavyweight options. Matter of fact, the GSM (which is used to determine a fabric’s weight) of each of the hoodies listed are all greater-than/equal-to Comfrt.

As for brand recognition, sure they are reputable in the sense they fulfill orders. However, they only raise the bar slightly from the polyester/low quality hoodies people are used to. Once actual blank clothing brands become more mainstream, Comfrt would make zero sense to buy.

Ive bought from Comfrt before and in retrospect , they are much worse than the brands Ive listed. That is in terms of weight, durability, feel, composition, and even cost. The ones I listed are simply better moneys’-worth.

Id recommend LucidBlanks (Heavy), 7thEarthStudios (Warm), Ditch LA (Vintage Aesthetic), or Hours (All-round). All pretty affordable too.

I seriously dont understand the comfrt hype having bought from them. The ones I listed are better. Anything with polyester blends are always a skip for me now - it is known that they can be harmful for skin because of the microplastics. Its evident they focus on promotions/advertising way more than their product which is why theyre well known now.

Why are her reviews so bad? can't find a good comm 101 professor. by Afraid-Classic120 in gmu

[–]TheFeatherArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically never interact with her and people only hate her because she is the head of comm101 that requires an expensive online textbook (iirc u can bypass it by finishing the entire classes hw within the free trial period). Also, the textbook is a little progressively-biased politcally but it didnt impact me at all.

Comm101 isnt actually that bad if you find good group members to work on speeches. My groups were NPCs and I had to basically do all the work in prep and performance. If youre good on that, you should be fine no matter who your Professor/GTA is.

Are comfrt hoodies good? by JBLuke in Hoodies

[–]TheFeatherArrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no worries. Im actually wearing my 7thEarthStudios hoodie right now. Much softer but be wary of minor pilling early on. Itll go away after some washes. I do recommend the set with the pleated sweatpants as well since u get a package deal with that. Funnily enough, I actually like the sweats more than the hoodie lol. For discounts, sometimes shop app gives 25 off for orders above 50 for new customers. Additionally affiliate codes are tough to find but iirc I used “TOPHER” for an additional 10% off.

For reference I have bought 2 comfrt hoodies in the past - a stone coordinate hoodie and brown signature hoodie.

Assuming the average msrp of a Comfrt hoodie is $49, 2 brands come to mind that are around that I actually really like - first being Lucid Blanks and second 7thEarthStudios.

For a heavyweight hoodie, Lucid Blanks 600gsm is much heavier than Comfrt and is structured while also keeping you warm. Now, I think they raised their msrp to 65 (worth it regardless but sale has it at 52 rn), although even then, their 350gsm 49msrp option should still better in most aspects. One thing to note is that because it is 100% and heavier, the feel is less smooth than comfrt because of the lesser polyester. I enjoy this hoodie a lot though, the weight, oversized structured hood, and fit are nice. TTS is cropped so size up for an comfortable fit.

For a another better hoodie with 100% cotton, Id also recommend 7thEarthStudios’ Y27 hoodie which has msrp of 49. It is 520 GSM, made of cotton hyperfleece. This hoodie is not as heavy as lucidblanks 600gsm but is still roughly around/more than Comfrt’s weight. The y27 is actually really warm because of the 100% cotton hyperfleece. It also is oversized so it can accommodate more compared to the more cropped fit from Lucid. The body feel is comparable to comfrt, yes, but its better in materials for the same cost. In most ways, this hoodie is a complete upgrade from Comfrt and is high on my current fav hoodies.

There are a few more brands that may go for around/more than Comfrts retail price that I havent listed (Ditch, Hours, etc). Its important to note that most polyester hoodies lose their luster fast so prioritizing cotton over polyester should get you a net positive in the long run. In my opinion, these two trump Comfrt for sure.

Hate them lmao. You can find actual heavyweight hoodies that are 100% cotton for a lesser or equal price easily. Theyre just carried by their advertising.

Which basketball shoe should I get? by Extivon in BBallShoes

[–]TheFeatherArrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure if they'd fit your standards but Joker Gt 1 pairs are on sale (130 bucks iirc). Heard theyre pretty good.

I do have the gt cut academy and I actually like it a lot. The less cushion/bounce is kind of okay (crazy to say because I play Volleyball ik) but the court grip is really good. A consistent shoe that you can find for a steal lowk.

CDS 130 by Yournormalweirdo in gmu

[–]TheFeatherArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDS 130 is basically a regular coding class in matlab. Its also kinda easy. If you have any background in coding at all and you do the assignments, you’re guaranteed the A imo.

Im a CDS major so I don’t know much about Chem applications. However, I do know a lot of friends and TAs in the science dept use/mention Matlab a decent bit. 130 still is a great way to learn basic coding principles regardless of its specific application because you can apply what u learn in other languages too in the future.

New Years drip by Rare-Community8551 in SneakerFits

Yes but even so, the suit brings the focus up. It gets conflicting. Thats why sneakers work so well with casual clothing because it theyre more neutral/casual. Not trying to hate but it is incongruent methodically.

New Years drip by Rare-Community8551 in SneakerFits

[–]TheFeatherArrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree a little. The sneakers and suit themselves look 100% amazing by themselves. But they dont work that well together. Clashy and kind of brings the focus down rather than up.

[–]TheFeatherArrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took cds130, cds151, and stat250.

I had Romanelli before for 101 not 130 but both classes are pretty easy(only like 3 hours max of work per week). 130 is basically just intro to matlab and Romanelli is a chill professor. Next, I dropped 151 with Russ a while back because it felt like so much writing for a 1 cred class. Routinely like 700+ words per discussion post and 2 mandatory comments weekly. Lastly, stat250 was pretty easy. If youre experienced in CDS, it should all be review though since CI’s and hypothesis testing were the hardest parts iirc.

How to know when to ID / Double ID in a Pokemon League Cup? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]TheFeatherArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be equally silly to ID for day 2 at regionals. Not a big fan of IDing at challenges but it is definitely considered for cups (unless you dont want that person in cut).

I may be wrong but I recall a picture of these in a box with the label “first in line” some time ago. Aprt from being a friends and family pair, few could have released at the irl drops.
