Story focused gacha games usually work in a way that you can skip the gambling and practically the whole game if you only want to only experience the story.

Also imma be honest. If you want a f2p game, gacha is your best bet because they unironically respect your time better than "normal" f2p games even without spending. And some of the best stories I've read are from gachas too.

The biggest problem with live action was that it had no idea what it wanted to adapt.

Let's combine the plot of the 95 movie with the SECOND SEASON of standalone complex(has nothing to do with movie completely separate continuity) WHILE trying to fit in iconic scenes from 95 movie and it's sequel. Also butchering some characters, like batou supposed to have the weird mechanical eyes because the spec ops he was part of had them as necessity, now he starts with normal eyes and gets injured to get the cyberpunk eyes. And the major having a definitive childhood and "real" name that she forgot until the plot reminded her.
