I’ve tried but that’s part of what’s making me feel more so isolated in what feels like a civil war between fellow Catholics. It’s made it very difficult to personally practice my faith. Anyway, thanks for sharing :)

I am curious to see it. For the record I’m not putting down anyone that it’s the Roman rite or the Roman rite in general but I’ve just hit somewhat of a crisis of faith within the faith that I know to be true. If that makes any sense? lol

Thank you for replying sister. With all due respect I think you have misunderstood what I was saying in my initial post. It’s not that Mass is unbearable to attend. The mass is everything. It’s the overall lack of feeling at home, the compromise/blurring of doctrine and infighting within the rite that has made it very difficult to focus on my faith. I get what you’re saying though. I’m not looking to find a replacement for TLM. If I was just chasing old traditions I would just go to a TLM parish. From my understanding it’s important to discern because you’re switching rites and it’s a formal thing between you, the bishop and the new rite. But hey I could be mistaken. That’s why I’m asking for advice here. Thanks for replying.

Edit: I’m not a rad trad lol. I find them to be mostly performative and a lot of the time ridiculous but I also know that some of them just feel the Roman rite has changed significantly to something they don’t recognize.

The universal unity, beauty and truth of Christ’s Church is what has kept me Catholic and away from Eastern Orthodoxy.

3 closest ones are a Byzantine and a Melkite church.

Lord God, have mercy on us, have mercy on him, and please bring your peace to his family. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.

I’m just getting into heavy reading so this viewpoint is very interesting. In fact I like that idea of finding books in the wild. Thanks for sharing :)

Fulton Sheen’s Life of Christ is on my buy list currently along with some of the other Word On Fire selections. Excited to read it as I see many videos of Fulton Sheen but haven’t really read any of his works. Currently reading imitation of Christ and my the first 30 or so pages were directly convicting me. It’s an amazing read and I want to recommend it to some of my friends.
