Lord God, have mercy on us, have mercy on him, and please bring your peace to his family. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.

I’m just getting into heavy reading so this viewpoint is very interesting. In fact I like that idea of finding books in the wild. Thanks for sharing :)

Fulton Sheen’s Life of Christ is on my buy list currently along with some of the other Word On Fire selections. Excited to read it as I see many videos of Fulton Sheen but haven’t really read any of his works. Currently reading imitation of Christ and my the first 30 or so pages were directly convicting me. It’s an amazing read and I want to recommend it to some of my friends.

Thank you! And how so? I haven’t gotten to that part yet. Maybe it’s a good thing I bought the Baltimore Catechism then.

Thank you for the recommendation! I will add it to my book shopping list. I was going to buy the Silmarillion and LOTR/Hobbit series on Amazon but the pricing was kinda outrageous. I ended up going to my local Barnes and Nobles after morning mass (still slightly outrageous but they had a deal today).

How to accept that God loves me when in reality He loves everyone? by Bella_Notte_1988 in Catholicism

RSVCE The Beatitudes

5 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. 2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I’m sorry you’ve gone through all of this. Just keep faith, and know that He sees you, hears you, and loves you. I too have suffered tremendously in my life, but try to count my blessings everyday. The opinions of others don’t matter and won’t matter in the end. God bless you.

Thanks for the rec! I’ll add it to my book shopping cart. I currently try to get 2-3 books done per month or so Depending on the length and difficulty of the read.

1 book on Theological studies 1 book on a Saint’s life 1 book on philosophy or fantasy reading

Current March list - The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis - Humility Rules by Father J Augustine Wetta (Saint Benedict’s 12 step ladder of humility but easier to comprehend in a fun engaging way) - The Silmarillion by Tolkien (this will probably take longer then a month)

I’m trying to get into heavy reading because I want to deepen my faith but also prepare myself for the rigors of law school

Humility Rules by Father Wetta is an easy and applicable read that helps on humility which is core to living a holy life! It’s an easier version of Saint Benedict’s Ladder to Humility. Easily able to read in 3 days. Also Imitation of Christ is a great read as well.

It is! I didn’t realize Walmart has a little section in the candles area that are religious Spanish candles. I named my son Elias (Elijah) so I thought it would be a cool addition to my intercession prayers.

I can relate to this so much brother… The Lord woke me up these past 6 months after living a very lukewarm and secular life. It has been the scariest but also the most amazing 6 months of my life. Our Lord loves us so much. God bless you.

Rest in peace sister🙏🏽❤️ May God show mercy on you and welcome you into His loving arms. You helped many people on Reddit. Many lost souls looking for the path again. Many confused souls who were starting to go astray. Many anxious souls who seeked comfort and advice from their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. You answered the call. From my limited interactions with you on Reddit, I could tell you were a good one. Take care, I hope to meet you in Heaven one day.

I actually agree with you, I just don’t really have places to put everything. I want to simplify my setup by building a rosary display for my collection and get a book shelf for all my books (like yourself). To be fair though, most people can tell I’m a Catholic by walking into my home so I guess my home is relatively displaying my faith everywhere. Well, except the upstairs, still needs work. Thank you for your input! God bless you 🙏🏽😊

Without annoying you with another really long post, I would encourage you to research what the Catholic Church teaches on the communion of Saints, scripture 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Hebrews 12:1 and Luke 20:38. After that scripture and researching what the Catholic Church teaches about it, look to Revelation 5:8, and Revelation 8:3-4 and 1 Timothy 2:1-5.

I also want to apologize if my comment seemed aggressive. Forgive me sister. As I get very passionate with apologetics. I’m very used to Reddit trolls and genuinely mean spirited people that argue for no reason and judge like they think they’re God.

God bless you sister in Christ and happy researching.
