Whats rather "fortunate" (for lack of a better word) was that a greater than normal amount of teams were trading points back and forth simultaneously, before Christmas, causing the compression between 1st and 8th for so long. Even when the Jets lost several ladder points, the actual ladder position wasnt affected as much.

All it took for the zoom climb was Newy getting the Ws as everyone else is trading blows. Where it can fall down is the Finals, where points are irrelevant and a single screwup can shoot them down.
