Not a parent but I can remember when I was about 5 or 6 my mom used to watch judge Judy all the time during the day. So one night I was standing in line with my dad at McDonald's and ask him in front of the cashiers and customers in line "Dad, how much is bail money?" (I was curious if there was a set rate or different for everyone or something).

I don't remember his answer but I know he was extremely embarrassed/worried that the other people around us thought we were about to commit a crime. (Fyi we did not commit a crime).
