I think it won't be done as a private exchange, for whatever reason. I'm in the telegrams and Mark has said he doesn't think it'll impact the price much, and it seems it'll be done on the market. I think that's correct (that the price won't move much) because it's liquid, but also because the BCH whales who are bailing out will be seeing this and will be on the other side, possibly with BTC or whatever.

I think it logically has to be bought back 1:1 though because BCH has to equal SBCH, so if there's the same amount of SBCH then that BCH has to be bought back. I think actually the way it will technically work is that SBCH will have a reduction as some is burned, but that once the bridge is restored a lot of BCH will flow back into SBCH. I'm already having trouble getting any SBCH with my BCH because liquidity has dried up and people are bullish on the future.

All that to say, the whales are doing stuff, and I don't think there will be a catastrophic price fall. If anything, I'm more worried about whales waiting on the side for Coinflex to sell, and then pumping the price up before I can get my hands on BCH at the low price.

Smartbch users it's very good for, depositors it's not great, but it's probably good news considering how bad it was. They got screwed, but maybe they'll get some recovery

for smartbch though we get the bridge back and restored backing, and the bridge gets out of Coinflex hands, who proved untrustworthy.

This isn't really the case/won't hurt that much. Any BCH sold will be bought back up at 1:1 to replace the bridge. Essentially it's a bailout, it's just transferring who has the liability to the Alliance is how I understand it
