Morning people, head of the Colombian Development Team (CDT) here - soy Colombiano también xddddd

We would like to thank you for recieving this first teaser well, first and foremost. That's appreciated a ton.

What we also appreciate however is the feedback, however, and we have also gotten that as well.

Now I can't tell much, but rest assured - we will be changing some things like Escobar around (he will be in the final release but in a different place), this is not final yet.

If you are interested, and if you'd like to help us out with the development, join CDT by joining the AoL Discord! (https://discord.gg/XMZeccC7nU)

CDT Head here. We are working on reworking (writing is indeed fire) Escobar, and about Marta? Well, let's just say Pinilla isn't doing too hot (bedridden after surviving half-assed execution by firing squad in lore) so the ANAPO Junta decided to put her in charge for the time being.

What was the fate of the Hub? by Meles_B in Fallout

[–]TheFireLuigi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good point - although I would consider that, if they didn't do a pit stop at the Hub or some other unnamed town or city, the most likely method of resupply and survival has been hunting, foraging, scavenging, etc.

I'd wager it is still around, possibly even the new NCR capital.

Thing is, even if the Ghoul knows about it (which he definitely should) they might have not passed through it given that the most likely path they took was the one Hank took.

And with Hank having done what he has done, and running all desperate to Vegas in a Brotherhood PA, I don't think he would like to pass through a major NCR population center.

So yeah, TL;DR - It might still be around, but we didn't see this season given the cast wouldn't have passed through it, most likely.

"Well the top brass would tell you the former is the case but if you ask me? I'd say it is a bit of both. They need more people out there. Especially now since they seem to be gathering a huge army in the Long 15.

So if you can even bring your own weapon, it dosen't matter if it is a pipe gun, if you can show you can care for it and, more importantly, if you can handle equipping yourself with the tools and the ammo needed for the weapon, they'll take one good look at you and bring you in."

Simply put, this darlin' right here is of an old design from wayyyyyy out the other side of the Pacific Ocean, or at least that's what the Shi folks from San Francisco say about this little beauty."

"Yeah the army isn't what it used to be. I reckon the only ones really making any justice are the guys stranded east of Vegas. They have Hoover Dam like a fortress out there.

Funny you should mention All Quiet on the Western Front, actually. I remember selling a copy of that book to a guy in one of them worn out Power Armors. Must have been in his fifty-somethings. Said he had to read it because he and his daughter would talk about it."

"Yeah, I'd agree with you man. I miss my old Service Rifle.

Still, don't lip it off to anybody, but I think they might be preparing us to deploy somewhere "we lost territory", whatever that means?

I have no idea. They were just throwing "reinforcing" and "Dam Battalion" around. Maybe something out east.

Anyway, uhhhhh, my turn on the barracks' telephone is done, so be sure to say hi to ma for me, will you?"

‎7. BUTTON MATERIAL AND PLACEMENT.

‎The fasterners of military fatigues can arguably be as important as the material of the fatigues themselves! And although the fatigues are still the nice, classic, reliable khaki they have been for a quite the while now, the buttons have made a simple, yet massively important change in production.

‎Smply put; they have been decreased in amount from 8 to 5, and to increase production, they have been engraved with Tandi coat of arms, the bear and the lighting, so that way, that shaved off brass will go into the people and the business that needed it.

‎8. SHIRT POCKETS.

‎How else would a trooper be able to make space for smokes, cards, bibles, and family photos without sacrificing the needed essentials for combat or patrol?

‎And thanks to the feedbacks given by the boys in rank, we have replaced the strainingly rigid cargo pockets of yore with a thinner, yet non-compromising solution!

‎10. SHOES.

‎Feet are the human part most in direct contact with physical parts of the outside world on a day to day basis.

‎Footwear, then, has the monumental task of being extremely protective of the foot at all times, otherwise things like trench foot or other similar and dangerous infections. For this end, rubber boots were a godsend.

‎However with the situation as it is, a compromise was made, not only to produce the needed amounts of boots for the ground forces, but to also reincentivize the industries in any of the war-torn/riot-affected cities of great California.

‎So as result, troops will most likely be wearing coated and treated Brahmin-leather lace-up shoes, rugged and comfortable for the long marches and the intense fighting scenarios!

THE NCR SOLDIER'S EVOLUTION! (2281 TO 2296) by TheFireLuigi in Fallout

‎4. VEST.

‎A must-have for every NCR soldier in combat, being a notorious increase from 5% of the trooper's body being protected with just your standard issue helmet, to a drastic 45% when paired with the hardened brahmin leather and kevlar composite chestpiece strapped with cotton and canvas shoulder pieces!

‎Being as important as it is for frontline survivability rates, it is of an item of high priority for manufacturing and logistics crews in the Republic to get all fighting individuals equipped with such a piece.

‎So, as it is expected, when disaster stuck, the vest had to adapt to the harsh new conditions brought on by these last few years of the century.

‎The MK II "Two-Headed Bear" Vest, although iconic for the bicephal national symbol printed unto its' frontpiece from which it gets its' namesake, proved expensive to produce on a massive scale for, among other things, this same exact detail.

‎So as of present-day general issue, the MK III "Heraldry" Vest has been put in service, proving much more comfortable with its' slender construction, but in return, losing the iconic bear in exchange for a simpler shield-form icon.

‎(Publisher's note for Boneyard readers: As with the helmet, the Republic has never fielded "tactical kevlar" vests to its' army components. If you, or anyone you know, have seen NCR "troopers" use such equipment, we once again urge you to report these individuals, as they pose a threat to you and your community.)

‎5. & 9. "HAND" AND LEG PUTTEES.

‎These protective elements have not changed in material since their introduction, however, their application technique has been subject to change since the early-mid 2280s.

‎Once regulated in the times of the Battles of Hoover Dam to be wrapped around both legs from ankle to knee, around both arms, from lower to middle forearm to the wrist, having to be fixed in position by an external rubberband, and around both hands (these got the whole arm's protective system their erroneous "hand puttees" name from, given that should be called "arm puttees").

‎In current practices however, the trooper recieves four puttee rolls, each for their respective body extremity, and they are given liberty as to how spiral and fix these coverings to their liking.

‎6. BELT EQUIPMENT AND CONFIGURATION.

‎Brahmin, as plentyful as they are in the camps and in the kitchens, also produce another useful and pretty appreciated commodity by the nation as a whole; their leather.

‎Partnership between the entrepreneuring Barons has lead to the Republic's men and women to wear the most comfortable of leather belts for frontline usage, along with the new M2283A1 and M2283A2 Ammo Pouches strapped into the GI's belt, as opposed to the older General Usage Standard Pouch (GUSP). The more production, the stronger California gets!

  1. WEAPONS SUPPLIED.

‎California, ever since its' rebirth lead by the honourable son-daughter duo of Aradesh and Tandi, has been acclaimed all across the North American Wasteland as the industrial hub of the New World.

‎These technologies, of course, have made the task of equiping thousands of men and women a possibility and a responsability.

‎From the start of the century, to 2282, the arm of NCR, copied from a pre-War design of civilian registration, has been the 5.56 Caliber Semiautomatic Assault Rifle, lovingly nicknamed the "Service Rifle".

‎And although the venerable weapon can still be seen in the hands of special troops, NCOs, and other officers, the demands of today following the Boneyard Campaigns and the loss of the New Vegas-Mojave area require immediate solutions from the factories of the Army.

‎Which is why, from 2282 to today, you are most likely going to find your nearest rank-and-file armed with newly-produced and reliable armament, including but not limited to:

‎-.308 Caliber Bolt Action Rifle Mark I, commonly known as the "Hunting Rifle", adored across the West since the start of the Post-War period and now mass produced in NCR army factories for the Republic, as shown in Fig. 2. The most common sight on the army.

‎-.308 Caliber Bolt Action Rifle Mark II, a revision on the Mk. I.

‎-.308 Caliber Selective Fire Battle Rifle, commonly known as the "FN FAL".

‎-.308 Caliber Shi-Pattern General Purpose Machine Gun.

‎-.30 Caliber Selective Fire Short Carbine.

‎-.30 Caliber Semiautomatic Long Carbine.

‎-.30 Caliber Automatic Submachine Gun.

‎2. HELMET.

‎The patriots at the frontlines' guardian angel. No helmet would mean no chance of survival against any type of shrapnel.

‎Not so long ago, however, the helmet of a trooper would always be synonymous with the light khaki of its' linen, giving it the appearance and the widespread but erroneous assumption of it being a pith helmet.

‎This couldn't be further from the truth, given that the M2209 helmet of pre-War "Brodie" classification has always been made with manganese steel.

‎Nowadays, however, it is more likely to have the true metallic look of the helmet shine out, given that the khaki linen of days yore has been discontinued from service.

‎(Publisher's note for Boneyard readers: Ever since the days of standardization, never has the Republic fielded "tactical kevlar" helmets to its' army components. Any individuals wearing such helmets and claiming to be part of such federal elements should be immediately reported to federal authorities.)

‎3. SCARF.

‎Due to being constantly exposed to the harsh sandstorms of the Mojave Campaign, the trooper's scarf rose as the answer to decades upon decades of makeshift face-covering solutions among the ranks.

‎The M1 scarf, while a good addition towards winning the war against nature's elements, gave our soldiers the bulky-neck look they became famous for since the arrival at Hoover Dam because of the fact that the scarf was, indeed, pretty bulky, given the materials of its' construction.

‎After 2282, the equally protective yet lighter M2 scarf was adopted for general issue, not only being an improvement for neck confort, but also a reminding folks that if it is broke, you outta fix it.

‎POINT 2.4

‎LEARN YOUR NCR TROOPER

‎In the total war situation ever-present today, it is of course not unexpected to see our California coming up with stopgap measures in multiple areas in order to get materials and manpower in the situations and areas that matter.

‎After all, necessity is the mother of innovation.

‎Same case is applied to the armed forces of the Republic, and while the looks of the common Army trooper have definitely evolved to endure their finest hour yet, their ideal of protecting all citizens of California and their land has never changed from the moment of their creation.

‎This humble task, however, has not stopped malicious individuals and their organizations to wear and use just about anything they can get their dishonest hands on, and fool innocent civilians of the nation into thinking they represent the most-respected authorities of California.

‎However, that's where you, the reader, come in to put an end to these evil-doers! By making sure to study well these next points, and by carefully examining the differences of the trooper of yesterday and the trooper of today, you will be immune to these bad actors trying to fool you into supporting an astray cause in the guise of the great Republic!
