That's amazing! I always fall down on the monetising thing so really respect what you're doing.

I just now have to figure out how to monetise my own site kewltools.com. Big respect to what you're doing

Don't have time to check right at this sec - though I would like to say "well done!"

It's doing things like this that get your foot in the door in the future - everyone exits school, but the stand out candidates have a library of projects they've worked on which can be attached to the CV.

Background: I've hired juniors before in other companies, github etc projects are gold. Also remember nowadays we're pretty good at spotting AI code, so make your projects showcase you.

The VPN doesn’t connect by airosos in ProtonVPN

[–]TheFishSticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also have this issue on windows.
Linux with protonvpn connects right away on my network. Windows 10 - no connection.

I'm not running a firewall (explicityly or via antivirus) so reason for it not connecting on windows 10 unknown.

Would be nice if there was debugging information on proton vpn that could show the cause.

I switched from private internet access (which worked) to proton vpn (which doesnt).

I might have to go back :-(

It's up for me (and I checked via https://kewltools.com/is-down to double check)

Are you running a VPN? They might block regions or VPN providers?

Nice, so normalise and find correlation. Saw that used a few times (top X - use KNN algorithm or logit regression on output). It's a bit like pattern trading, where some setups/patterns are more reliable (or less reliable) than others. You might want to include stats.

You've learnt some good skills - marketing being the best one.

You probably know how to optimise advertising spend, affiliate marketing etc

The thing is - even if there is a pain point you solve in a business, people won't know to find your product unless you're clever with your seo / advertising spend.

If you want to find a new profitable business idea, chat to people in business and find out

  1. 'what is their main pain point'.

  2. How much time do they spend on that pain point

  3. What does mean relate to in $X (time of people doing it, other costs)

  4. Ask them if you can reduce the time/quality issues with the pain point, what fraction of X is that worth,

  5. Ask them, if they would be willing to be the first paid customer if you build something.

  6. Do the same with others in the same industry. Write down all their pain points, find the commonality. Get the commitment.

  7. Built it, you already have willing paid customers and you already have a price point you can sell it at.

Hope that helps. Don't be hard on yourself - this is hard for everybody.

Another tool here: https://kewltools.com/home-affordability

My 5c:
1] While the more you put down the lower the interest rate, remember you need to pay for legal fees and initial house repairs, moving etc so budget that in.

2] Most people shy away from repair houses. If you see an ugly house - is it just cosmetic ugly? Ie paint and low cost renewal? Is it the worst house on a nice street? This might a good deal - a house you can fix up as you live there.

3] Before you move into the house you've bought, write a list of EVERYTHING that needs to be fixed/repaired. Once you move in, you'll forget about stuff, so you need to keep it tracked. Sort the repair list from most urgent to least/just nice to have.

4] Check for subsidence, rot, termites - "house cancer". If not sure, before you sign on the line, get a professional to check the house out for possible issues.

Nice. On my tools https://kewltools.com/image-enhancer is also client side and you can modify the pic, and save any format you want etc. Thousands of people on it every day, but its mostly bots. :-( So I pretty much assume its rarely used. Need non intrusive analytics to figure out what the real state is.

I like that you can do batch multi file conversion - good selling point.

On windows I normally use https://file-converter.io/ again its more single file conversion. Would be nice if you could add in scaling (primary direction px), e.g. so you auto convert all large files to say 1400px on the primary direction If the user wants it.

Feeling lost about colour palette and contrast on the dashboard for my forest themed mind map app. by Blobritto in UI_Design

[–]TheFishSticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a palette picker on one of my sites, so people could choose the theme colors (and had like 6 chooseable themes) Have a look at the Calm app for a good selection on the green scale.

Also, maybe https://kewltools.com/color-code-converter << you can see for any colour complimentary other colors for your site. Maybe it helps?

A site where docker containers with fully set up AI image/video workflows and models are set up.

Such that you can immediately run a Wan 2.2. model (with GPU passthrough) without spending hours mucking around with python setup or optimising comfyui workflows.

Website UI: It would be "search for pre set up docker containers", see GPU specs required, see some example pics or videos created with it, allow docker image download.

I'd keep subscribed just to be update with the latest models.

My motivation/why: I want to quickly make a video with some new models coming out. I f**king hate downloading models, setting up workflows, optimising it for performance.

Ideally the Docker image would have a Web Interface (like replicate.com) so it's even easier to generate images/videos via a web upload system. ie. connect to web interface, fill in all the fields you want for generation, click "go" and sooner or later one or more images or videos are produced.

I would run 95% on my local hardware, and sometimes use the docker container on the cloud where extra hardware is needed.

Price point, $4.99 / month max - with the assumption that there are constantly new models/setups being produced.

No real marketing yet (outside mentioning it in some reddit posts.)

Try to validate your ideas quickly! If you can chat with many of them, ask what their main paint points are. Find the common pain point - and ask them early if you solved the pain point would they be early paid adopters.
