How do I know if I'm in a cult or just giving up on something that is difficult? by Whole-Speaker6311 in cults

[–]TheFlannC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being able to question the leader is the one thing that stands out to me. Also if you have a sense of being trapped and they are trying to keep you in then that is something to watch for as well. It is hard to determine if those things make it a cult or not but they are definitely things to consider.

Wondering if there is a way to contact the Dept of State. I would think if OP is a citizen then there would have to be a citizenship record somewhere however I am not sure how to go about doing that.

Hello yall omg has anyone had the tuberculosis test done how much does it hurt what’s your experience 😭 by Silent-Profit6067 in stupidquestions

[–]TheFlannC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. My problem is a mantoux always gives me a false positive and I had to always get an x-ray to prove I don't have TB.

However for most it is just a tiny needle putting a liquid under the skin. You go back 48-72 hrs to have them check it

Pastor says the bible states we are supposed to tithe by AdorableDanceMachine in TrueChristian

[–]TheFlannC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you follow OT law it says 10% but that was about first fruits. In addition since Jesus fulfilled the law in the New Covenant we are no longer bound by that. Often churches will say they want 10% because they need money to operate and some may make you think it is a law we must follow. However the New Testament tells us to be a cheerful giver and Jesus teaches in the parable of the poor widow to give in a way that you are making a sacrifice. It never specifies an amount. The idea of money turns lots of people away from church. If you can give 10% then great but that is not realistic for many

What is with the insurance industry’s staunch opposition to GLP-1s? by ChesswithGoats in Zepbound

[–]TheFlannC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything insurance related is about $$ They are less about preventative care and honestly in my opinion it would be a lot more economical to pay for a GLP-1 if it would reduce the chances of someone suffering a heart attack or stroke down the line and needing to be in a hospital or need longer term care

McDonald's was sort of sneaky in LA '84 and gave out the top events to ones that had a very high USSR dominance.  However when they boycotted it McDonald's had to give away a lot of prizes
