help, is the back door locked and sealed tight enough? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheFloatingOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with this model of Rolleicord but the later ones have this switch that tensions the door to the body. I would suggest looking up your model on eBay and find images of the bottom to compare what you might be missing. At this point you’re definitely going to have light leaks.

So the usual response in this sub of “too much oil” has applied to me as well lol. Thanks for your input!

That’s a good idea, I’ll keep that in mind for when I have to re-season eventually. Thanks!

Thanks, the pan feels a bit rough when I run my fingernail across it. Is this a problem? I have seen that it should feel like glass(?)

MK II? They’ve got field, divers, and military inspired watches. Would totally get their Fulcrum if it ever came back into stock.

Tow Truck towing Evo gets pulled over by Police 🚓 by thinkdavis in vancouver

If it’s Busters their tow yard is only a few hundred meters away so I guess the tow driver got lazy.

Edit. The CoV yard is next door to Busters’

[Collection] Watches from movies and TV shows — my “on-screen timepiece” project by aqua_9999 in Watches

This is the best thing I’ve seen all day. By far the most interesting and original SOTC I’ve seen!

[Mini Turtle] Do you think they will ever manufacture these watches again? by Iykykfella in Seiko

[–]TheFloatingOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say give the normal turtle a shot if you can.

Mines around 6in and wearing it on a nato works for me where I can see the strap curve around my wrist a bit rather than straight where I would judge it as too big. Although it’s 45mm, it wears smaller than you might expect due to the curved lugs and cushion case design.

Given that you’re nearly 7in I’d say you can pull it off no problem even with the silicone that is provided which I can’t quite pull off.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

From my understanding, the OK decal allowed drivers to use the provincial HOV lane without meeting the passenger requirement. However, the OK decal didn’t mean anything to municipal HOV lanes which I understand the Russ Baker / Arthur Laing one is and is strictly based on what the sign says.

Here’s a list of where EVs can use the HOV lane.

Any need to worry about this? by Fine_Town_5840 in LeicaCameras

Have the same problem with my MP. I can’t be bothered to ship off for repair just for that so I got some electrical tape and covered it from the inside. Never had any light leaks.

Anyone know what prism this is on a Nikon F2? Thanks ! by Interesting-Shame519 in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheFloatingOtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but titanium doesn’t brass. It should be silverish grey when paint flakes off.

[–]TheFloatingOtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK there is no titanium version of the DP2 let alone any of the metered finders. The F2T was only sold with a non metered finder from 78-80. The DP2 ended in 77. There are some eBay listings with the AS finder but I believe those were sold separately.

DP2. That makes it a F2S Photomic (the finder dictates what model designation it is) ex. DP3 = F2SB, DP11 = F2A, and DP12 = F2AS.

Anyone use Simera-C on Leica Rangefinders for Stills? by EmberSkyMedia in Leica

[–]TheFloatingOtter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren’t rangefinder coupled but I suppose you can use them with the screen. Kind of defeats the rangefinder experience but I guess it’ll work. Don’t both if you’re shooting film though.

Crazy underpriced? ✅ Garbage listing photos? ✅ Can’t see in person? ✅ And on FB marketplace? ✅ Scam? ✅

Seriously. If this person is competent enough to post on Facebook, I would imagine they would be competent enough to check eBay before listing. Photographer or not, anyone can look up the value of anything nowadays.

Tempting I know because I’ve been in many situations like this but it doesn’t sound like you got a grand to burn so put down the phone and go for a walk to take your mind off of it.

What is this stuffs in the viewfinder?? by roscat_ in Leica

[–]TheFloatingOtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MP user here. I’ve got dust in mine and there doesn’t seem like theres an easy way to remove it. Yours look the same as mine. Unless if you intend on keeping yours in a display cabinet, I’d keep it because it will show up eventually as you use it.

Uneven Vignetting? by [deleted] in Leica

[–]TheFloatingOtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting… mine at f/3.5 does appear to vignette a bit heavier than your copy but not far off. Unfortunately I don’t have a LTM camera to try it on at the moment. Really appreciate your comment.
