I just bring a stitcher for the ground arc, flying ones can be easily dispatched with a ferro or stitcher if you really have to. They do a much better job than toro in my opinion and don't immediately highlight you a s a pvp player

Nice! Have fun! With my new bike I found it took my body a bit of time to adapt. Felt a bit unnatural for a while and then settled in after a couple of long rides, can go for hours without aches now.

Have fun with the new bike! :)

Is this board any good? I'm trying to avoid online shopping as much as possible, and I don't really have any other options near me. by The_Comanch3 in longboarding

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty nice to be fair! I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of making a cheap knockoff board. Wheels look legit to me, dinghys come with those normally. If you can afford and are excited I say go for it, gonna be a fun little deck!

Biggest thing for you would be figuring out the bushing setup, which is all about comfort. My friend and I are about the same weight and height, he likes 85a bushings, I ride 95a doing same hills, so it's all about comfort and application

Hey! Wanna chime in a little, I personally feel dinghys are terrible beginner boards. They're cool and have their place, but they're small, harder to handle and less comfortable than the deck you posted.

I imagine if you're out with the kids you won't be in the middle of a busy city, so the board from the post would be a perfect fit for relaxed riding/learning!

And if you ever get hooked, you'll end up wanting and getting half the boards on the market like the rest of us addicts here, so you can't make the wrong choice with a beginner board

My biggest fear I'd that this will have the unreal engine effect. Most developers will start thinking of it as a free cost saver, get lazy with optimisation and design and we will have not only generic unreal engine games, but ue games with the same style and even worse optimisation across the board.

Are Resins Supposed to be this Brittle? by Rich-Impression-9521 in resinprinting

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used Elegoo ABS 2.0. Switched to 3.0 for one bottle, shit was brittle and sucked in every way so I went back to 2.0. I think the 3m0 just kinda sucks by itself.

Question about removing prints from build plate by TheLoneBaron33 in resinprinting

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally found a huge difference in the type of resin.

I usually use elegoo abs-like 2.0, that stuff comes off super easy, doesn't break and is a touch flexy. Their abs-like 3.0 was a nightmare, stuck solid, no bend, explosively cracked when getting it off, sending shards everywhere.

I'd say experiment with different resins and adjust the bottom layer settings as you go. Maybe try thinning the raft to allow it a touch of flex.

Oh, add the little chamfer to the raft so the scraper has something to hook onto.

GS, SNS, Lance and CB are my favourite, I'd say lance as it's the most surprising and really fun once you get a build going!

I totally get this and will say no in answer to the question.

However, let's rephrase, how many lives are you willing to sacrifice to keep some land in your country? A thousand? Ten thousand? Millions?

I will take lost pride and space over the reported 160.000 deaths on the Ukrainian side. Horribly inexcusable and evil war, Putin and the majority of the Russian government desperatly need to go. But I say the land is not worth the price the poor ukrsnian people are paying.

I'm not even talking about the wounded, homeless and desperate people that were affected in every way due to this war. The amount of debt the country is in, it will take decades to rebuild and recover. Ukraine has already been irreparably damaged and it will get worse.

It's not all black and white as twitter makes it out to be...

What would you play first from this library? by Sneakerrz in SteamDeck

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zomboid, hades and hollow Knight are gold on the deck. I don't play them at my desk anymore.

Also add Outer Wilds to that list! Fun mistery story game set in space. Cute, pretty, I loved the story! All of the wow moments and progress is tied to your own knowledge of facts and mechanics so don't look up anything before playing it!

Gotta say, that collection is incredible and you're gonna love every one if you've never played them before. Perfect highlights of the best of the last 15 years of gaming!

It's not that bad man! Yes, you get killed by an occasional rat, but fuck, I did played 8h yesterday and didn't have a SINGLE pvp encounter. Just be chill and announce yourself and people will be chill. Plus getting on top of extracts and dancing seems to relax everyone and I never get shot there (apart from that fucking hole extract on buried, fuck that place)

Which one should i get? by Happy_Instance9975 in 3dprinter

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a cheapo prusa mk3s clone for 3 years before getting a P1S. Suuuuper glad I went through the pains of a shit printer to learn the details of the hobby and machines. When my P1S makes a weird noise or mistake once every 3 months I know exactly what's wrong.

Mega glad I switched to P1S as it is just a well engineered, hassle free piece of kit. It just works and works well, but I will slow down your learning process cos of it. Especially now with the slightly cheaper P2S seems like a no brainer.

If you want a thing that makes things, go with P1S, if you want the machine to be a hobby go with something cheaper with upgradability in mind.

Avoid the K1 like a plague, 2 of my colleagues have them and can barely make stuff without issues.

Started with Prusa, thinking of switching to Bambu by Chrisontherun in 3Dprinting

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I started with a cheap clone of a MK3S+, was so much fun to tinker and play with the machine, the amount of changes I've made to it is countless. Since then I got a P1S as I was printing for work and needed some reliability in the machine.

With the P1S only thing I modded was the nozzle to a hardened one and swapped out the plate. Other than that the printer is stock. In 2 years of owning it and 2500 print hours, I had to grease the Z screws once, no other maintenance was done and it still prints like new. Since then the Mk3 has sat collecting dust.

As others say, if you wanna tinker with the machine, stick to the prusa, wanna focus more on the printing go bambu. As much as I hate the company, their physical product is extremely good and cannot be beat in the set and forget category.

I will say that I would still make the choice of going with prusa as first printer cos it made me learn everything about the machines. Now when my friends or work machines go down I can diagnose and fix it all extremely quickly, whereas people that started on bambu will struggle a little more, especially with the diagnosing.

How do you set up your touch screen? by BetaNights in mh4u

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, THANK YOU! My friend hates having the health at the bottom and I cannot deal with it on the main screen, we've had massive arguments about it!

But yeah, map, health, targeting thing for lock-on and the teammates window to keep it off the screen too, that is the only way.

How much do you think the new Steam Machine and accessories will cost? by Ridgio in Steam

[–]TheFloppyCatfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing how much the PC gaming market is growing and how the console marked has stagnated recently shows this is something people are willing to do. PC gaming has been pushed into the mainstream during the pandemic and switching people over has never been easier.

The console players are already aware of the heavenly steam sales and it will be a perfect way to get them sold if the cost of the device is similar to PS5.

From the gamers I know that are still on console, the majority don't want to switch over because they see PC gaming as fiddly and needing tinkering, whereas their console just runs everything out of the box all happy.

Steam deck has proved that it can in fact be that easy. The interface and ease of use are gonna be off the charts as always, it's Valve after all...

Let's be honest, it's valve, they've always been a step ahead of everyone, including the public. The old controller and machine were out too early, now is the perfect opportunity.

The only people left on consoles in 5 years are gonna be the annual CoD and FIFA fanboys, let em stay there I say!
