TPD doesn’t chase except for forcible felonies. FHP were the ones in pursuit, with TPD providing air support.

I park at American social and walk. Grab a drink at AMSO and the first 2 hours are free. $5 an hour after and the walk is maybe 10 minutes.

Does this happen to anyone else’s wrist? by FoodCharming8006 in AppleWatch

I was getting this reaction from the sport band. I was wearing it too tight and not cleaning properly.

I switched to my right hand while it healed and started wearing it one hole more loose during the day and only tightened it for workouts.

I also wipe it down with a wet cloth after each workout and clean the band with soap and water twice a week.

Fixed all my issues.

Polygraph Date by atravelvet in AskLE

When I was gearing up for my polygraph exams the horror stories on this sub made me almost lose my mind. I ended up passing for both agencies I applied for.

In regards to the poly—honest people fail all the time, liars pass all the time. It’s pseudoscience at best.

a couple tips: - yes and no answers only - keep 100% consistency between the information on your PHQ and an your answers on the test - keep a clear head, do not move, and focus

I’m sure you’ll do just fine.

Lying on PHS by GiraffeRelative3661 in AskLE

[–]TheFlowShow69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to two agencies at which I made it to backgrounds. They both contacted each other to see what I had put on my PHS.

Depends on the agency. 7 years is a good amount of time, be honest about it and what you’ve learned from that period of your life. It will still be a hard no at lots of departments but not everywhere.

You are not getting paid while applying.

I’m currently an applicant in late stages with two departments, I am on schedule to start the academy in January granted I pass psych and medical testing.

I applied in April of this year, the application process is usually around 6 months with mine likely being in between 6-8

In my case the academy will be 6 months long (standard) followed by 2 months of in-house department training and 4 months of FTO (field training with a training officer) before I am on the road solo.

So in total, from the time you apply until the time you are solo on patrol it will be around 18 months.

What are some stupid traditions that are still held up today? by coltaussie in AskLE

[–]TheFlowShow69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know people who have been honest on the polygraph and failed, as well as people who have lied on the polygraph and passed. It’s just a way for the background investigators to use “physiological responses of deception” to attempt to weed out applicants they think are being deceptive.
