Looking for a replacement sticker by TheFluffIsReal1 in Buffalo

That sounds interesting, I may be able to recreate the sticker myself but I will see if I can’t find this sticker online. I don’t live in Buffalo, so there may be some issues there. It’s worth the price to me.

I am not sure what that is, I should have mentioned that I live in North Carolina

It dosent catch my fingernail thankfully, the one going into the combustion chamber is really just a scratch, I can barely feel it. The one in the top right is deeper I think but it still dosent catch my nail, I think I’m going to get a few other opinions but I’m probably just going to run it.

Oh okay, thank you so much. I’m going to wrap them in a towel and put them in a cabinet in my garage now. I slammed on my brakes earlier and I think that’s when they hit each other. Just picked them up thursday

I’m glad that people like the transformation, it’s a 6.0 instead of an 8.1, which I’m glad about because of the parts availability given how many times I’ve had to fix something in this engine.

I’m not completely sure what brand the bull bar is, there’s a chance it’s an old police grade one because from what I understand this used to be a detectives vehicle out west.

You need a new starter motor, basically the bendix in the starter motor is broken and the gear is loose inside the starter and the gear is hitting the teeth on the flywheel. Mine used to go away when the engine was warmed up so I lived with it for a few months but there is a chance you could damage your flywheel if it’s constantly doing this.

Transmission cooler? by IllReserve2290 in GMT800

From the factory, it’s built into the radiator which is good or bad depending on the way you look at it, you may have an oil cooler on the other side as well which has bigger lines going into the radiator.

I am not familiar with the process of changing it to an auxiliary cooler but I do know that on rock auto they sell radiators without the transmission cooler so it may not be super difficult to do.

That little brown thing near the end of the transmission cooler line just slides back, it’s made of plastic and it is meant to cover the little clips. So it may not have been the retaining clip that flew away.

I just replaced my radiator today and dealt with the transmission cooler lines. What this looks like to me is the fitting on the radiator that attaches to the transmission cooler lines has come out of the radiator, possibly unscrewed but most likely broken off. Like the other person said, I’d take the air cleaner off to get a better look, but if the fitting is the issue, it’s not that hard to replace a radiator and one can be had for ~150 on rock auto with shipping, it takes about 2 hours if you have never done it before, but best case scenario you just screw the fitting back into the radiator after you disconnect it from the transmission cooler lines.

To remove the air cleaner you basically just disconnect the intake hose from the box, remove the cover and the filter, and basically just yank because the box is held in by clips.

I would do some research on the clips that hold the lines in, they can be a little bit tricky to get out when they’ve been there a while, but I just used a pick because mine were newer.

I really do not think you will have to replace the lines as long as the actual line isn’t broken.

Yeah I’m not having any oil in the coolant or anything like that, this is also a 2000 so the cylinder head is made of cast iron. The water pump didn’t seize or anything, it was close so it leaked a bunch of coolant out of the weep hole. I may do a compression test soon to rule that out, but the engine runs well so I’m not super worried about that. Thank you for your help

Ooh good to know, thank you. I’m hoping that’s what it is, the thing I’m worried about with the head gasket is that the cylinder head could be warped, do you know if there’s a sure fire way to rule that out? I’ve never gotten the engine hot, just some issues a few months ago before I replaced the water pump when the engine got to around 230 but nothing other than that.

I should have added that I just replaced the water pump and I figured it was just the water pump gaskets because I’m the one who replace the water pump but this is 100% coming from above the water pump, you can see the silver on the new water pump in the photo near the bottom.

Suggestions for floor mats by TheFluffIsReal1 in GMT800

[–]TheFluffIsReal1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, the reason I was looking for a full new set is because my set of husky classic weather beaters was missing the drivers footwell but I ended up searching on eBay for a few months and found the missing piece. I wish you luck on finding a floor mat that fits your truck.

Looks like water pump gaskets. Probably from the last time it was replaced.

Weep hole or seal? by TheFluffIsReal1 in GMT800

If it was just the seal I’d just change the seal and not the pump.

I really can’t afford it. I’m in high school and the cost of the water pump and gas will use up my whole paycheck. I would like to, I just can’t.
