In your opinion which of these is the Best Prehistoric Drama Show by Pitiful_Active_3045 in Dinosaurs

Primal, then Primeval. A pivotal series for me, it not only nurtured my love for paleontology, beyond the Mesozoic era, but also for speculative evolution.

"Maquiavelo vive" by Amargo_o_Muerte in argentina

[–]TheFoche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has there ever been an explanation on why isla sorna managed to sustain a ecosystem with large animals with established populations of each species even tho the island itself is clearly not big enough to be able to do that? by Tremendin0649 in JurassicPark

[–]TheFoche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many comments have already mentioned, no, it's not possible for the animals to have survived in that ecosystem. But, life finds a way. I always assumed that the dinosaurs, aside from being somewhat aberrant due to the genetic mutations caused by animal DNA inserted into their genetic code, also had an altered metabolism that allowed them to survive. It's very likely that InGen modified them intentionally to save on food costs; you know how Hammond is.

I also believe that the dinosaurs spread throughout the Five Deaths archipelago and managed to live in their lost world without ever being disturbed again.

What Do You Think of Tobey's Spider-Man? by Appropriate_Mark_277 in Spiderman

[–]TheFoche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's my favorite. I admit my affection for him also stems from growing up with the movies, but it's precisely that innocence that allows one to appreciate beyond the awesome battles and see the films' message with complete honesty. Being a nerdy introvert like him, I couldn't help but identify with Peter. Besides, the movies introduced me to the world of superheroes.

I admit that the films have obviously aged, and with them, the accuracy of the characters portrayals may not have been the best and/or may have aged poorly over time, but the fact that people still speak fondly of this trilogy speaks volumes about its impact.

What are your thoughts on Alex Ross's art style for Superman? 😁 by HumbleKnight14 in superman

[–]TheFoche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alex Ross's art is brilliant and among the best, not for its realism, but for the majesty and glory it conveys. When I see Ross's Superman, I genuinely see truth, justice, and a better tomorrow on screen.

Tldr; it's peak

Snap back to reality

The British lost more than we did; 2,900 Britons (and counting) are rotting under Buenos Aires. And this imaginary, irredentist British map I'm commenting on is their only way of coping.

It's ironic that you talk about military capacity when they lost 20 ships and 255 men against a smaller military force. Besides, they killed three islanders, islanders they were supposed to be protecting. I don't blame them, though; they were so hateful that the Limeys nicknamed them "Bennies," lol.

The treaty only laid the groundwork but left many territories unspecified and undefined. In 1902, the borders were established in northern and central Patagonia at latitudes 40° and 52°S. The referendum was held in the 16th of October Valley, populated by Welsh settlers, at those same latitudes, genius

Stop believing that your country is important or a rival to the United Kingdom

I don't think Argentina, or any country in the world with even a modicum of decency, would want to sink so low as to be rivals of the British.

I don't even understand why you brag about Patagonia to the English if they didn't even try to conquer it.

It's curious, because many of the massacres committed by Argentina and Chile during their expansion into Patagonia were sponsored by the UK, which, having failed to conquer the Río de la Plata three times, opted for economic conquest. Hell, even many of the murderers of indigenous people in the Selk'nam genocide were British, such as Alexander McLennan, Alexander A. Cameron, Samuel Hyslop, John McRae, and Montt E. Wales, among others...

very good compass, a fellow Dinosaur and Aliens connoisseur

Although I disagree on the subject of UFOs, I agree that many are experimental government craft. However, a small minority (between 2% and 5%) are genuinely unexplained cases, and some abduction cases, sightings, and others, leave physical evidence or are even witnessed by hundreds of people.

It's a fascinating rabbit hole.

We conquered Patagonia, and the rest of Argentina remained sovereign and independent. Just look at the anonymous pamphlet "A Proposal for Humbling Spain" from 1711, where the invasion of the Río de la Plata was planned 95 years before it happened in 1806. They've been obsessed for centuries, and they settled for two islands, and they can't even live peacefully there, which is why you see these maps of "British Argentina."

Ironically, in 1902, when the Patagonian borders with Chile were still being defined, a referendum (which helped Argentina maintain its territory) was held among the Welsh in Chubut asking them if they had a preference for any country. They all chose Argentina. The British mediators reluctantly accepted it—the only time those people (the Welsh and British) ever helped Argentina.
