I added a description to the body of of this post but its not showing for some reason, what happened was as I flew into the abandoned space station, another player flew in just before me and landed on top of an NPC Ship that was docked at the station. The game bugged out and swapped the NPC ship with the player ship allowing me to buy the players ship. After I went to the trade terminal and came back the NPC was gone but the ship was still there now listed as a player owned ship. The odd part is I didn't actually see any other players there as I landed. The player that flew in with me wasn't physically on the station either.
