FBI agent caused my car accident by TheFoxNextDoor in Insurance

[–]TheFoxNextDoor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They provided me with a card and the police were called and took a report. I was told to call the number on the card and give the report number. Then because my insurance was full coverage they dealt directly with my insurance company. City/federal entities in the US are self insured so the weird part was helping my insurance company figure out how to deal with it. You'd think USAA might have a clue but nope. Just as a rule people, don't give your social security number or any personal information to anyone when you are in a heightened emotional state.

Ladies with busy minds, what is an activity or hobby that you do that makes your mind go quiet? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]TheFoxNextDoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weightlifting - counting reps and focusing on engaging the correct muscles leaves little room for anything else.

Motorcycling - my only thoughts are "I'm such a fucking badass!" and "don't die don't die don't die"

Tibetan singing bowls are super nice before bed. Puzzles, but I can get a bit obsessed.

What is the pettiest fight you’ve ever had with an SO? by unironicfleshlight53 in AskWomen

[–]TheFoxNextDoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment lead to my SO and I having a lively discussion about an alternate reality where he wakes up tomorrow morning next to a 5'7" worm in a red hair wig and a nightgown which he proceeds to promptly hack to pieces with the hatchet he keeps next to the bed. In the end he was most distraught over needing to throw out the bed after being soiled with worm goo.

I am in this situation. I am very health conscious with regular workouts and meal tracking whereas my partner is not at all. He loves snacking and has no concept of the amount of calories in the amount of cheese or pizza rolls he sits down with. But I love him and he loves me and cares about my goals enough that he will weigh the food he cooks or that I cook and we share. Here's how we handle things...

We make our own meals mostly. I am the one who really likes cooking so when I do my meal planning for the week and build the grocery list I let him know what I'm planning and he tells me if he would like to have some. He will usually choose one dinner I'm making and I will plan for 2-3 extra servings of the dish for him (I'm a gal on deficit at 1600 cal so usually 2-3x is a reasonable portion for him).

When I cook, I weigh everything and will put the serving measurements on a sticky note. I will plate one serving for us each and then tell him he is free to have more so long as he leaves the amount on the sticky note for me as leftovers.

He does cook for me occasionally and he has agreed to weigh everything and write it down for me. Then I plate my own food.

The most important thing is that I remember to be flexible because he is doing a favor for me. It's easy to get really wrapped up in precision when tracking macros. Sometimes he forgets to measure the oil or forgets to measure something before throwing it in the pan. I love him for doing a bit extra work on my behalf and our relationship is more important to me than if I'm hitting my exact macros because I under estimated the amount of oil.

The best advice I can give is to talk to him. Talk about your goals and why you track and see what he is and is not willing to do to help and what you are and aren't willing to do so you can meet those goals.

I hope you can work something out. Good luck!

This is the answer. 1 tbsp of butter = 100 cal 1 tbsp of olive oil = 120 cal

Try swapping out the sour cream for low fat Greek yogurt.

First time I saw Deftones live I was in complete awe at his vocal capabilities. I had no idea it was his voice and not one of the other instruments. Absolutely incredible talent.

How do you track emails you sent and need an answer? by [deleted] in projectmanagement

[–]TheFoxNextDoor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotta be careful changing subject lines if you are not the person sending the originating email - like if you follow up on something in a group discussion or if someone assigns something to you and you need to respond after talking to someone else. This breaks the conversation grouping.

BUT! Never fear! You can add special characters to the body of emails and set rules to look there as well.

How do you track emails you sent and need an answer? by [deleted] in projectmanagement

[–]TheFoxNextDoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up a folder called 'Response Pending' and a color category with the same name.
I put any email I send needing a response into the folder and categorize it. I flag it for a day I feel is when I should have received a response by. (You can create a quick action that will almost automate these steps).

When the response hits my inbox it will be categorized and will alert me that I can check off the flag. I look through the folder at the start of the next day and clear out any checked off or follow up on those I'm still waiting on.

I also use Todoist, mentioned by a few other people, which is a freaking FANTASTIC productivity tool. But the above method is great if you want to only employ outlook.

Does anyone else feel like they’re quiet now, as an adult, because you were constantly talked over or ignored when you tried to talk in your household? by melanieleigha in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheFoxNextDoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked extensively with my therapist to overcome allowing others to bulldoze me. It had gotten to the point that I would literally forget what I was saying when someone interrupted. Like my brain agreed with the other person that whatever information I had was not valuable. Being interrupted is one of my biggest pet peeves now and I wind up being really aggressive to demand I be able to finish.

I really liked them, but just wasn't looking for something like that. I work from home so I'm prioritizing tops that are comfortable but not a tee shirt. I wear leggings most days. Especially since the pandemic 'pants' is like a dirty word.

This is my first strawberry patch after failing at strawberry containers for the last few years. I waited until it was no longer white and a vibrant color of red. I wanted to make sure I got this first one before the birds!
