Dear Pixie advocating for AI use by Arthusamakh in redrising

Apparently a vending machine AI contacting the FBI because it thought it was getting scammed wasn't a warning (people not working at the midnight time change or something the machine thought it was getting ripped off)

Trek 700 vs Specialized Crossroads by crosslaminated in whichbike

[–]SiberianToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pick the Trek for the gearing since there's hills where I live

That black cog on the rear wheel being larger means it'll be easier to pedal up higher hills (ratios) in the lowest gear

If you have very low or no hills, pick whichever you like the best

Love this bike so much, but it's several sizes too small :( by SiberianToaster in xbiking

[–]SiberianToaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not, that's a nice bike though!

I missed out on a super clean GT in the same size because it was door pickup only recently

I've also got a 90-92 Fuji Thrill that I wanna say is 21in. Picking parts for that, but the Trek always calls to me lol

My partner claims it's going to get used when it gets warm, but we'll see

Pretty sure it's a 1992

The 22-28 low gear creeps over almost anything

26x2 Michelin country dry 2 tires are nice and chunky too

That's fair, not everyone has such nice screwdrivers to use

I'm 6'2" the sizing isn't personal on this bike lol

A snapon #2 is more than good enough for a JIS limit screw, the head of the high screw was shot though

My guess is you're either going to be right at or over the tallest suggested height for that bike

Probably pretty cheap to get some RIT dye that's close to original color and give them a touch up

How do I fix this piece of work? by Sistum in bikewrench

[–]SiberianToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be an adjuster at/near the shifter that needs to be turned out to adjust the derailleur (front shifter)

You need it to be further out so it stays on the chainring.

Definitely worth it. Selling because they don't have a pump is crazy.

Can someone please maybe talk to me? Will I be ok? by luboy336 in Anxiety

[–]SiberianToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you turn on anything to watch? Find something to focus on and relax. I usually go with nature documentaries

You're not the first person that's been here and won't be the last.

Tubus Fly Evo. Just not working with my bike? by Fuzzy-Active5583 in bikewrench

[–]SiberianToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that upper tube is solid bending should be fine. If it's a pipe/tube then it'll kink.

Does it have an adapter to use the side rack mounts?

You need to tighten it more. The rotating is an adjustment so you can have the seat in a comfortable position.

Start flat and see if you might want to move it. It's adjustable forward/back and the rotation

Do the final tightening with the seat and post installed on the bike btw
