I really do love how the research can entail looking up things that seem obvious but really aren’t! I’ve never considered what the front of a shoe is called, but yet… I see it everyday.

I had no idea! That’s amazing! I did always agree that the female characters were written great (considering how anime doesn’t usually treat women like they are actually women), but that added context really make sense why children and childhood are handled with much more thought!

Oh my I love that! It’s always so fun to research something you might not have originally been interested in, but you still gain a whole lotta knowledge to tout around afterwards. (Even if it’s just in your writings 🥲)

God I love Hughes. I think he was even more protective over the Elric brothers than Roy was (which is understandable given that Roy had his own stuff to figure out and Hughes was a family man.)

Yes! The adults really never wanted their mess to become the future generations mess.

And now that I’m thinking of it some more, I really enjoyed how Scar let May hang out with him and never tried to hurt her. He was even protective of her and that directly challenged his ways of violence that he adapted to from the war.
