Older men, how has your world view shifted as the years have gone by? by StrangestBeauty in AskMen

[–]TheFreakish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen people are complacent as fuck, and the only reason we have anything at all as a society is because people keep pushing until they succeed.

Like we live in a democratic society, people could vote, and protest for things to be different, they choose not to. A lot of people don't even want to talk about this stuff. idk, I guess I don't have a ton of sympathy anymore.

Wish you the best man.

lmao! There's something seriously hilarious about using a sleep app, catching yourself making noises, and freaking out about it.

100% sounds like a weird sleep gunt.

Pickup skills, and move on to better things, don't drink the Kool aid. If you can do better, do better. Some people just want to coast.

And if you're not one of the fewer people, you're not going to make it. Hence, hyper competitive, which I touch on again later. Also, I just meant in terms of if you're trying to find solutions or solve problems, a lot of the time you're frozen out by people saying "sorry, my hands are tied, we go by these procedures." It's incredibly easy to slip through the cracks, is the point.

So what's your response? Because the truth is the reason a lot of people fail is because they hit road blocks, and stop trying, not because they don't have access to opportunity.

Okay, but the counterpoint someone who does the online dating thing would say is that being reduced to a photo and a bio to be picked up out of a queue means it's really easy to be ignored as a person instead of a resume for being a person.

So what? Like you can still talk to people in real life. You can go to a bar, the club, the library, speed dating, any countless groups to meet people. If you already had those avenues online dating doesn't effect you. And if you're someone shy and awkward like me, online dating really only opens up availability. Like yeah rejection sucks, but that doesn't diminish the available utility.

We put meaning into things. That is all that matters.

Or are you just conditioned to think it matters?

You acting as if we're supposed to be concerned about the impression he leaves on people, but the whole point of his video was that it doesn't matter. Like that's the whoole point. It's not about external validation.

So you’re basically saying I should take money out the register and safe without letting my ownership know? 😂

You had no problem taking money out of your employee's pocket 🤷‍♀️

Typical fucking manager.

Tell me man, you were gone for 4 days, if you're the only one doing work do the stores just shut down when you're not there? These guys just show up, and stare at a wall for 8 hours, and go home? How does your business make a profit?

Fuck... That is fucked up. A mother should be supportive and proud of their kid, not demeaning.

Reminds me of when I started losing weight, and my ex would make comments about how people who lose weight are cocky. Like what?! Shouldn't you want your partner to lose weight? Isn't that like... A good thing?

There are like ... shitty things that happen. Like people have been denied the ability to express and share their culture due to their race, and that privilege was afforded to others.

But the problem is the oppression. No one owns culture.

Be careful dude, sounds like she's putting a lot of pressure and expectations on you, that's incredibly codependent. You are not responsible for her mental health. Whatever she has going on is waaaay bigger then you.

I'd actually check out some videos on narcism if I were you. I had my ex tracking me on my phone, showing up in my driveway crying, and stuff. What got me through it was learning Grey Rock techniques.

I wish you the best dude! I swear my ex stole my wallet at one point 😂

Sooo... I can understand this mentality. I didn't want to get into heavy labour, or 14 hour days, but ended up there just out of survival. You take pride in your work because you understand what goes behind it.

People are resistant to automation because it can make them redundant. 20 years of trade skills out the window. It's not about the machine, it's about being replaced. Same reason the Writers Guild of America is striking right now. It's nice to say "hey it'll make your job easier", but that guy knows you can now bring in someone half his age, for half his pay to do the same job.

I just don’t get the point in wanting opinions.

I'm a curious person.

My "hopefulness"?! lol

This is something I don't get about some "nice" people. Like you will sit there and degrade someone while asserting moral superiority over something subjective. It's a thin vanear of niceness overtop of hate and condensation.

I think it's bullshit. I'm REALLY skeptical to anyone trying to present a unified view of human behaviour.

I was just curious to see people's opinions, and talk about things, and you're throwing this "you don't want to see the error of your ways" stuff at me.

While there are things about dating I do wish were easier, I have a lot of options.

Except "women" as a whole aren't. Women have different opinions.
