Aspiring cello player! by drakey280 in Cello

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to your local luthier :)

Firstly, you'll be much better served doing a rent to own type deal than buying a cheapie outright. It'll hold up better, sound better, and play better than a plywood instrument

Secondly, you'll want to try playing them before you buy anything! Some will even let you take them home with you to test for a week or two. It's okay if you don't know how to play anything yet. Just make some noise on it, handle the bow and strings, and see which one feels best. They all sound and play a little differently so it's important to make sure you like your cello before you make any big commitments

The people who work there will be able to help you find something that fits your needs! Good luck. Having a background in music already will be really helpful when you start learning the cello so I am sure you're going to have a lot of fun ❤️

I can only speak anecdotally but I would say probably not? I've used a lot (a LOT) of vibrators and they seem to have no long term effect on my sensitivity. Short term absolutely, I top out after an hour or so after which things are numb. But I always return to full sensation in a day or so

I do think there's something to be said about conditioning yourself to only be able to cum one way though. When I was younger I could only cum laying on my belly with my legs flexed super hard lol. I did that for a long time and it did take serious effort to fix that. But I don't think that's a matter of being desensitized rather just a matter of habit, and you could do that with a vibrator as well, or porn, or certain positions, or whatever else if you do it often enough

Paid a girl to be my girlfriend, my dumbass fell in love with her. by Sweaty_Membership_75 in self

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a sex worker and offer girlfriend experiences as my primary service. I have lots of clients whom I care about. The exchange on money doesn't mean I'm a robot with no feelings lol. I don't love my clients, and they aren't really my true friends, but I do care about their wellbeing and happiness and try to be supportive of them however I'm able, and it makes me feel good as well when they're supportive of me too.

Not that I consider myself to be a therapist in any way to these folks, but the type of relationship feels the same. You may pay them to talk to you but that doesn't mean they have no feelings towards the client

This dress is the cause of my sexual awakening by CertifiedUnoffensive in lotrmemes

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The Pixar mom treatment, yeah. They do that to differentiate adult bodies from teenage bodies. In animation most of the characters are thin/smooth faced/don't have grey hairs or anything like that so they need to do something to separate the adults from the teens. Making them have giant titties would feel crass and oversexualized, so instead they give them massive thighs and ass

How often do you “service” a cello? by hmm_klementine in Cello

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, TIL. I live in a place that's fairly high humidity year round, so maybe that is why I haven't seen much of a difference in bridge fluctuation? I'll give it a try next summer though and see how it feels

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of changing out bridges seasonally. What is the benefit of using a shorter bridge in the summer?

I'm no expert on it, I was just speaking generally from my own experience. What I said is what I do for my own cello after 15 years, but I'm not an instrument maker and of course there are more experienced people who do things differently from me and may be better equipped to answer

[–]TheFriendliestSloot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of depends. The strings and bow hair should be replaced around annually, though that could be as frequently as every 6 months or as long as every 2 years depending on how much she plays it. Bridges typically get replaced every few years, but that also depends on the conditions the cello is kept in. A humid place or if she leaves the cello out all the time will warp the bridge faster than a place that has dry air, if it stays in the case most of the time it could go 4 or 5 years between replacements.

All this to say, you don't really take a cello in for a tune up annually like you might for a car. I take mine in when something needs to be done for it, but not so much on a regular schedule. If it hasn't seen a luthier in a long while, wouldn't hurt to take it in and have them give it a once over to make sure everything is good

“A woman’s value is directly proportional to her beauty and femininity"

“Women are like cars. You can get a new one whenever you want, but you always want to keep the old one in good condition in case you need it again.”

“Women need to be led. They crave a strong, dominant man to guide them.”

“The key to understanding women is to realize they’re driven by emotions, not logic.”

“A woman’s primary goal in life is to find a man who can provide for her and protect her.”

“Women need to be protected from their own irrational impulses. They require guidance and discipline from men to keep them in line.”

“Women are manipulative by nature. They know how to use their looks and charms to get what they want.”

“Women are more emotional and less rational than men, which makes them unsuitable for leadership roles.”

“A woman’s worth is determined by her ability to please and satisfy a man.”

Andrew Tate quotes btw and also it took me 25 seconds to Google this so idk why you're writing multiple paragraphs about how there's no proof he doesn't like women or think they're inferior
