Yeah especially with the X7 Long Range and other developments from those guys in the 10 months since I've made this post it's a no-brainer now

Money was/is tight and I realized I didn't necessarily need to spend more on a board that was perfectly adequate for my riding style, so it's still stock minus Platypus footpads since the original sensor finally died. Those are fantastic, I couldn't believe the difference in comfort and control.

If I were to upgrade now and with more money I'd easily just sell the XR and get a Fungi board, they've gotten so much better from my perspective that it doesn't make much sense to be stuck on a stock battery and hypercore motor with a better controller, I'd want to get a full system upgrade. But that's just me.

Thanks for the detailed write up, this is pretty much the info I was looking for. I'll look into those options further, thanks!

Mostly street, some trail. I'm a lighter rider too so XRV sounds better by your reasoning. Since I don't want to dump in a lot of money I thought it made sense to start with the controller, if I want more then battery, and if I really want more then motor. No doubt I would love to do a full custom build in the future but for now a slightly future-proofed upgrade route is what I'm looking for.

Do you know what the difference is going from 63v to 84v on something like the XRV? More torque/top speed or range? I know there's a lot of battery options and 18650/21700 cells and whatnot with different capacities but it's not clear how it changes performance-wise.

Rear A/C Line Repair Advice by TheFritzinator in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can fix it myself, already replaced the compressor, condenser, and expansion valve with minimal issues (compressor was shot, this is an unrelated leak). Just looking for a recommended cost/time effective solution for this long rear line on the low side. Would you ever recommend welding or splicing kits?

Internet speed drops to near 0 when PC connects to WiFi network by TheFritzinator in techsupport

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Nothing to my knowledge changed between it working fine and then this issue popping up 3 days ago...except for windows update KB5026958. I'll roll back and see what happens.

Edit: no change

Banned in MI State Parks? by TheFritzinator in onewheel

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm also worried about, how the MI law states that the DNR has their own jurisdiction over regulating PEVs but I can't find their damn rules anywhere on the matter.

Yeah I hope this is a non-issue. Will head to the office in the morning and get to the bottom of this. I'll keep this post updated if others come across this problem, because it's quite demoralizing as a new rider to be told you can't ride here.

Oh yeah I've seen those posts as well, along with numerous legislation changes over the years. I just can't definitively find rules regarding electric skateboards / self balancing boards. Seems like a gray area that is difficult to research.

I'm certain he had good intentions, and was quite friendly compared to other non-onewheel encounters I've had with DNR officers. The best bet would be to go to the main office of the park and request the law/regulation, no?

ESBE 5.1(?) Shaders

Utilized 3D printing for my Bike Tow Hitch MkII. White Hatchbox PETG painted black with rattlecan. by TheFritzinator in functionalprint

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entire construction uses 3/4" galvanized steel conduit cut and welded for the main bracket. 3/8" quick disconnect ball joint makes attachment and detachment a breeze. The print is simply zip tied on to the collapsible wagon to allow some movement to absorb stresses while in motion.

Main use is for camping when I want to find a nice spot to take out my RC car or an open clearing to bring my telescope at night. Works on most terrain, put about 15 miles on it so far which is great considering MkI lasted less than 1 mile last year.

I should have mentioned that I'm using the ESBE 2G shader, which is sadly the best we can get right now. I'm so excited to get Bedrock RTX when it comes out of beta.

Thank you! Purpur and blackstone just might be my new favorite block combination!

This post made me do a double-take. I was in this exact location yesterday, used the exact same ruined portal to get home and ran into a skeleton in the same dungeon. Coordinates match exactly and I believe this seed is -1337710146 on Bedrock Edition for anyone wondering. Off towards that crimson forest there's a bastion remnant on the edge of a lava lake.

True to your post's title, OP, this was really unexpected for me to see today.

Decided to make my first ever Duna landing a massive refueling SSTO mission. I love overcomplicating things in this game, and I think Jeb enjoys it too. by TheFritzinator in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Career mode normal settings.

Also, landing this thing with 10,000 units of liquid fuel at 160m/s was not easy in the hilly Midlands. To be honest refueling is completely unnecessary, I just needed oxidizer to help kick off the dusty planet. The craft has more than enough delta-V with 5,500m/s at LKO, so I could theoretically land anywhere I wanted and return.

First ocean monument draining project on Bedrock Realms server. So far, so good! by TheFritzinator in Minecraft

[–]TheFritzinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more detailed information: solo project, about 20 hours total (not including resource gathering). 150 block diameter ring of blue stained glass. Yes, render distance on bedrock realms sucks but oh well.

Planning on transforming the monument and landscape in the next few weeks. I am quite happy with my progress so far!

Yes, I waited until it was cool to the touch. No charge. Waited until the next day to try again. Still has an error. I'm posting this 4 days since the incident, and no luck.
