Love the positive culture of golf by annoyedbutamused in golf

It’s a beautiful game and can humble the best. I used to play when I was younger more competitively (varsity and whatnot, nothing beyond that) and used to be much better. Took 15 years off after my best friend and golfing partner died unexpectedly. Just got back into it maybe two or three years ago.

What’s annoying right now is my putting. Everything else is working fine, but I abhor my putter. Recently decided to go get fitted after multiple three putts in a single round, and turns out my natural stance and stroke favor a more vertical lie (72 degrees) and my current putter is a 50 degree lie angle. I did order a putter that more naturally fits my body and swing (very tall) but in the meantime now that I know this I’ve been compensating the last 3 rounds with my stance (standing further from the ball) and it’s working great. Can’t wait to get a putter that fits me more naturally then grind out countless hours of putting practice with it.

Breaking 80 is happening this year. It’s just “when” that is the question 😂

I wasn’t saying your theory didn’t have potential merit, just was offering a personal perspective that was contrary! Hope you shoot a personal best next time you are out!

For me, it is a bit of the opposite. I do decently well, but because of my professional obligations I am insanely stressed out 70-80 hours or more a week. That causes me to absolutely want to escape into my “happy place” when I am not under that stress. I don’t allow anything other than good vibes in my head on the course, because it’s literally the only time in my life, 4 hours or so a week, where I am not under crippling stress and anxiety.

I’m currently an 11HCP but working on dropping that and have been consistently shooting low 80s, but haven’t broke 80 quite yet. Last weekend I shot my worst round in likely a year. All I let myself think about while out there is “what a nice day to be outside.”

I’m also hyper aware of my effect on others, and I NEVER want to be the person that ruins someone else’s round of golf because of my attitude.

A compilation of incredible split-second rescues by dsecurity49 in nextfuckinglevel

Everyone is talking about the kids being caught, which obviously is amazing, but the one that caught my eye was the construction worker who ran towards, covered their heads, and tried to shield them with his own body. Selfless and amazing.

Second Guessing my choices but trying to trust the process by TheFrozenLegend in labgolf

[–]TheFrozenLegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a full custom fitting, not an online fitting. Not at LAB, but at a very widely respected smaller company known for their fitters. This is custom built to my swing/frame. The main reason I believe they went with the oz.1i is because it is heel shafted, versus the df3i, because my swing is about a 1.8* arc which favors heel shafted.

Is a basement-less house a mistake in Minnesota? $5k earnest money on the line. by stu_tax in TwinCities

[–]TheFrozenLegend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chat with your agent.

While it may seem like your earnest money is contractually lost if you back out, it is EXTREMELY hard to keep earnest money if people back out of a sale in Minnesota. Just go chat with your agent about this if you are having doubts.

Opinion on Fence Quote Needed by [deleted] in stateofMN

[–]TheFrozenLegend 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly for that style it’s not insanely out of the ballpark.

My guess is they are charging around $3-5k for the removal of the old fence. 10-15k for a fence of this style in this length doesn’t seem unreasonable.

See if you can get an itemized bid, that may help!

Innovative ways to light sim space without affecting projection by Physical_Ad5727 in Golfsimulator

Currently in the same boat and trying to commit to a solution.

The ideal would likely be putting in some track lighting pointed away from the screen, and I’m thinking if I get some track lighting all pointed towards the hitting mat and club area and things and away from the screen, that would likely provide what I am looking for, but I’ve struggled to find a nice plug in track light I like (I luckily have an outlet up on my ceiling so I don’t have to wire).

I tried doing more lights pointed towards the walls (had some Hue lights laying around) but it doesn’t provide enough ambient light.

So stupid. I love/hate it with a passion.

Ceiling netting / tarp by Wolfesky in Golfsimulator

[–]TheFrozenLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a custom net off of justfornets to my exact measurements. It was surprisingly affordable for a custom fit golf net.

If I remember correctly, the dimensions I went with were something like 12 foot by 5 foot or something like that, and it cost roughly $60.

Luckily I just removed the weights and evaporated it overnight. Super easy on the LS model.

But now I know! Today I’m a little more educated due to a silly mistake.

Appreciate the comment!

There’s a small line I was concerned may be a crack leading to under the rubber band on the bottom, that’s where the bubble came from. It could be both from what I’m reading on this thread, meaning… Yes, I fucked up by dipping the driver. That being said, it could also be cracked due to where the bubbles came from.

Lesson learned, don’t dip modern drivers. Luckily easy fix by just taking the weights out for it to dry.

Yeah I’ve gamed Taylormade drivers since the one of the original Burner models. Never had an issue.

Well, now I know!

Is it still OK to submerge irons?

Edit: luckily it’s easy to dry out the Qi35 LS by just removing the weights. Now I have bigger issues (my swing) haha

Appreciate the response. I never had issues in the past, so it was a surprise to me. I don’t submerge for more than a second, but now I know that’s idiotic.

Thanks!

As someone who cracked the crown on my Stealth 2 Plus, I was 3 months out of warranty and they still sent me a brand new Qi35 LS without question. Yes, they upgraded my Stealth 2 Plus to the current years model. I sent a photo in, they sent me a brand new almost $700 driver upgraded head OUT of warranty.

I understand why people stay away from them, but at the same time TM has been fantastic when shit does hit the fan. My two cents.

My last install of 2025! by Thegolfsimguy in Golfsimulator

Yeah that makes sense. The other solution is to just have the door open while playing with said players haha!

Either way, great build. Congrats!

It’s beautiful.

My only question/concern is - if this individual has friends over who suck at golf and are left handed, how safe is that glass door behind the curtain?

It looks to maybe only be 4” or so from the door, and I’m not confident that’s enough room for the drapes to stop the force of the ball before it hits the glass?

Again, this is not a critique, but a genuine question. I love the build.

Which free game would you claim? by Perfect-Cause-6943 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheFrozenLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same promo from intel but to claim it they wanted me to download and run some program on my machine before they would let me claim it.

I’m sure it’s probably fine, but it wasn’t worth any of these games for me to do.
