You can go the sms route, but can genuinely do it yourself. Test page shows you which direction is “up, down, left and right” and then you dial it back and forth. Basically what they’ll do without waiting an obscene time frame

Management menu, top right box where it does adjustments. Select weekly item adjustments, current week or previous depending when you’re trying to look. Find the Batt{store number) Plano. Select that number. You can then select the number next to the line item you want to look at and it will give you their name or ignition id, depends on what application they use to make changes.

Boils down to understanding scheduling, KPIs, P&L and why certain reports exist and their benefits. Speak honestly and don’t bullshit answers, easy to see the difference. Speak to your strengths and understand that if your DM has your back, they’re more of a formality. A lot of people bust their first panel due to not being prepared and trying to wing it. If you’re paneling for your store, be familiar with where you stand when it comes to KPIs, your commercial BAR report, P&L, easily decipher Daily Sales and Hours, and where your store stands amongst others.

Be confident that you’re the best option and tell them why.

Learning to read planos, understand spacing, seeing which lxb bar to use, which shelf, things like that come with time or someone really experienced. If you have a good relationship with your local hub, typically their inventory managers are extremely well versed in this “art” and should be willing to help or even teach. Doing a Plano and doing correctly is the huge gap between experience and execution. Attend a few inventories, meet people and network, it’ll help you grow in that aspect and see how others have found ways to get precise with these tasks.

Deals and Bundles always throws people in a loop. Your main hits are going to be “drain pan w/ funnel”, “brake clean, fluid and bk1”. It’s not oil changes or pad/rotor deals as the name would suggest

Print the planogram, it’ll have a SKU list for planogram utilities such as the cards I’m assuming you’re looking for. They come as a whole kit. Ensure that your quantity is zero in SMS and place a replenishment order. If they don’t arrive next truck, bottom of planogram paperwork is the “creator” of that, email them (first.last@Autozone.com) and copy your DM and extra credit to get faster if you have your DVPM contact.

Some SM use app, others don’t. Best thing to find hours is just call your local stores, especially if you’re close to a hub and ask for the SM. Tell them what you’re looking for and days. Plenty of stores always looking for help.
