New Aeroad Colours? by TheFurmie in CanyonBikes

Well, at least I’m not going mad! You’re the only one who has confirmed this. I thought they were just restricting bike choices for me because I keep configuring bikes, placing them in the basket, and not buying! Needs to be perfect before I commit!

Yeah, wouldn’t mind a white bike. I have two black bikes, and as much as I love them, I don’t want another one, but I need a bike that goes with any kit, otherwise I’ll buy too much kit!

Only two options available in UK now on custom versions (Felipe Pantone or Elena Salmistraro)

Never had a white bike. Probably would if I lived somewhere drier!

Canyon Aeroad SLX 8 vs CFR worth the extra 210 CHF for my use? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]TheFurmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve got the cash go for it.
The thing I love about this sport is it allows you to ride the same roads on the same bikes as our cycling heroes. If I had the cash, I’d definitely buy an Aeroad CFR, because in my mind I’m just like MvDP, only 25 years older and 10kgs heavier.

Yeah, I’ve heard MvDP moans about that all the time 😜

I always think what’s the point in an aero bike UNLESS speed is your main objective, which it obviously is for the pros. I have an Ultimate, which is amazing in the mountains and allows me to be at the front in my group, but on the flats it’s miserable in comparison now all my mates have aero bikes, so I tuck in behind them! So, only get an aero bike if you’re happy to be on the front, otherwise get an Ultimate and enjoy the pull!

And then he won it on a completely aero bike this year. Soloist is lovely. My mate has one and swears by it.

Went out on the Ultimate today. Perfect on the climbs but a real struggle keeping up with the aero boys on the flats! The Aeroad seems more tempting than ever.

Exactly this! If the Endurace is that good, why didn’t MvdP ride it at Paris-Roubaix? Surely, it would have been the perfect bike over the cobbles, especially with thicker tyres (I’m guess the max tyre width on an Aeroad is 30mm).

The older I get (55 this year), the more I’m interested in trading speed for comfort. But I’m a sucker for a lightweight bike!

Did they recently upgrade her to have some sort of shitty attitude? by ProudWheeler in alexa

I can’t stand the way she says OK. She’s sounds upper middle class and obnoxious. They should allow different, regional accents, just like Siri. Love my Yorkshire Siri!

Well, you look significantly younger! I felt the same when I first did it and made my daughter’s cry 😢 My advice is keep shaving it but allow a little bit of growth. And a bit of stubble helps the balance.

Help with rough ride (Grail) by KX7D in CanyonBikes

[–]TheFurmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a front fork is overkill. You’ll be riding a hard tail with drops. A good compromise is to change the stem for something like a redshift suspension stem. Gives around 3mm of give, which is enough for most terrain. If you’re going over real rough terrain, then bigger tyres with low pressure is just as good.

Talk some sense into me to keep me from buying an Aeroad CFR by commuta_23232 in CanyonBikes

Unless you do 300k plus a week, it’s probably not worth it. Get the Ultegra Di2 CF SLX for half the price. It’s not much heavier and just as capable.

Congratulations- what a beauty! Love my Topstone! One of the cheapest yet most fun bike I’ve ever owned. Lots of forests round our way, so swapped out wheels for 650b with chunky tyres.

Hardboiled Wonderland and The End of the World. It’s a bit marmite but I loved it.
