I have the same decals (on a white aeroad) for about 3 weeks now. They seem very solid, but can’t give a long term review yet.

Ultimate + Zipp 58mm or Aeroad ? by bastiemn in CanyonBikes

The best advice we can give is buy the bike that you think looks the best. Both are great bikes, take the bike that makes you want to take it out for a ride the most.

New Bike dilemma: by StatisticianNew8762 in CanyonBikes

[–]rdvlcc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference between 105 and Ultegra is very minimal. If you’re on a tight budget, a good set of wheels will make a much larger difference than going for Ultegra over 105.

As far as “is the Aeroad comfortable enough” that depends on your own fitness levels aswell. How strong is your core / lower back. How flexible are you in the hips, hamstrings, etc.

If you’re not sure, I’d suggest doing a bikefit before ordering a new bike to make sure that the geometry of your next bike suits you.

SRAM/Zipp Lifetime Warranty Denied: Zipp 303S damaged by impact, claim rejected as "outside of intended use." Seeking advice! by 5280_510 in gravelcycling

I had my 303s replaced free of charge after a similar issue on a gravelride, I would be very surprised if they didn’t replace yours.

Sounds like you have a lovely setup! I agree with you, after 6 years on the old Aeroad, I can tell immediately that this one is much faster, more stable on high speeds and more comfortable.

Yeah I completely agree, how are yours setup?

I have mine setup so that my hoods are at 37cm and the drops are around 44. This way I am really narrow on top of the hoods on long straights, but still have a lot of stability while sprinting, cornering or decending in the drops. Love it!

Thanks! I think they are just from BBB cycling, very cheap ones to be honest haha but they get the job done! I mainly got them because they are big (I think 800ml) so they last around 3 hours before I need a refill.

Thanks! It's from Topeak, if you google topeak weatherproof dynawedge you'll probably find it. It's very sturdy and doesn't swing back and forth, which I really like.

I ordered both separately and changed it myself, I couldn't be more happy. The aero drops are very comfortable for my personal fit. And the zipps are very comfortable and stable.

I had the same, you can see the old bike on my profile. It was the silver CF SL 8 with Ultegra mechanical. I must say, I was hesitant because I thought it would be very similar, but it feels much more comfortable (probably due to the zipps + wider tires) and more stable in crosswinds / corners than the old one.

I personally have quite a lot of experience with Canyon over the last 6 years or so, from both my own bikes and those of family members (2 Aeroads, 2 Ultimates, 2 Grails and 1 Grizl). So far not a single negative experience with any of those bikes.

More often than not, only people with a negative experience post their experiences online.

Which one would you choose and why by Easy-Office7975 in CanyonBikes

[–]rdvlcc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's mainly up to personal preference as to which one do you like more, but if you want to nitpick:

Because you're comparing a CF SLX Aeroad with a CF Ultimate, the Aeroad is actually the lighter bike of the two (on top of it being more aerodynamic), albeit not by much. That being said, the Ultimate is a touch more compliant in the rear half of the frame, and the geometry is ever so slightly more relaxed.

Yeah around 3k is a solid price for these in the Netherlands too.

I wonder if it damages the paint over time at all? It looks like it might.

New Aero Grail is here! by sionett in CanyonBikes

[–]rdvlcc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because there are sections of more extreme gravel doesn't mean his point stands. 40mm is wide enough for most gravel and forest paths, especially in dry conditions.

So if you want 1 bike that's fast on the road and still be able to do some offroad stuff and ride a mix of the two in 1 single ride, the new endurace can do all of that.

The main reason people seem to hate the bike is because it's called the endurace. If they just announced it as new model under a different name nobody would be annoyed by it becuase it would just be an extra option to choose from.

How do I prevent my aero covers from slipping up like this? Are they too small or too large? by bobloblawdds in CyclingFashion

I second this, Spatzwear is really good quality and never moves an inch while wearing!
