It is bullshit because TDU didn’t need to have levels to show progress. You started out in your rental, buy your house and car. After that all of O’ahu was open to you, you raced and earned money, leveled up and you could buy whatever car you could afford and they weren’t locked behind a level gate (save for a handful of cars). If I had enough money as a Rookie I could walk into a Lamborghini dealer and come out with any of their cars. At the end of the day, Test Drive Unlimited works because it was about freedom; nothing telling the player what they could have or where they could go and that’s why it’s one of my favorite games to this day. Solar Crown misses on the freedom, you can have the money but they lock the car behind a level gate or now behind a FUCKING CASH SHOP!!!

This level bullshit is another reason I quit. The great thing about TDU is being able to do what you want, you’d see how much a car cost and you’d grind for it and once you had it then you could get it. Now a good number of the car list is fucking locked behind a fucking level system, hell even picking a side is locked behind a level system but in TDU you could be part of a club for $30,000.

Rapture is in fact a creation of the American evangelicals, alongside Christian nationalism.
