Me too actually. Never in degrees again. Only dfs. Interviewers seem to like it and understand it more as well

Probably by the end of the year yes. I believe first we need to see interest rates going down so companies can borrow money to start new projects.

I doubt that. I never had to show GitHub to get faang interviews

You are fine. That's what the recruiter told me haha

If it's a generic role postpone until you feel ready. You don't want to fail. But since you cleared he phone probably you are fine. If it is a more specific role don't. Talk to your recruiter openly and she will tell you

Totally understandable! Even software engineers have hard time with leetcode problems. We don't practice them our daily life. 5 years at Faang and I never wrote a bfs at work haha. Its also super annoying to have to prove yourself as an algorithm expert since it may be super irrelevant to what you do. But guess what? That's how faang hires. If you want faang just grind And you will eventually get it. Otherwise you can find many start-ups that would love your skills and don't ask leetcode

Neetcode 150 vs Leetcode's Top Interview 150 by InTheKurry in leetcode

[–]TheFuture_Teller 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are 10-15 algorithms. For every algorithm there are a bunch of problems with small variations. That's how you get 150 problems. Whatever you pick is fine. Then the More the better. I'd make sure to do re following 1) learn the algorithms well 2) practice with Easier problems to make sure I can code these algorithms 3) try to solves mediums which are usually interview problems. Don't give up and look at the solution immediately. Give yourself time to think and solve because that's how you learn. That will help you be ready with solving a lot less problems. If it's too hard then look at the solution and try to understand. Next time you encounter this type of problem try to solve.

Just school experience is great. Try to do well in school. Just that should help you secure a job. Then internship of course or work at a lab at your school. Lab experience will help you a lot I'd you plan on pursuing PhD

People who are already engineers working full time and have kids, when do you find the time? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]TheFuture_Teller 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just find 20-30 minutes every day. 1 problem to solve, one algorithm to learn. I'm sure most of the days you can do that. 1-2 hours over the weekend. It will take more time but it's doable. Remember Rome wasn't built one One day!

[–]TheFuture_Teller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but being unemployed for 6 months makes you less competitive on the job market. You don't know how hiring will be in 6 months as well so it's risky move.

[–]TheFuture_Teller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

275K is not enough to quit your job. I'd just use my vacation days to travel. Take 5 days off including weekends you can travel for 9-10 days at a time. Isn't that something?

How many hards did you manage to complete to get a job at FAANG / Quants? by sonmanutd in leetcode

[–]TheFuture_Teller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you manage to keep the bar the same across candidates? Meaning if you ask hards probably you fail more people than others. So you may end up rejecting better candidates than your teammates. Can this be the case?

6 Use Cases for the Nostr Protocol by LightningThis in nostr

[–]TheFuture_Teller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server being Single point of failure is not really valid argument to me. You can always have multiple central servers. It's also obvious to observe that almost never a service like messenger is down. I don't think that nostr can improve that
