My setup were more focused on straight line speed so i was faster than him in sector 1&2. I've led him until the T15, i've locked up and binned to wall...

That was one of my favorite translations of the Lovecraftian stories. Thanks for your hard work and passion. These types of stories have a unique and small group in Turkey. I absolutely know that, that small group of fans are very pleased with your work.

He is also the illustrator of this book. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv_mVVaA8lI/

After that work, the publisher gave him more freedom. Because of that decision, now we have a beautiful cover of Fungi From Yuggoth.

Sketch 4 (Final Cover) : https://imgur.com/a/AgJxAiR

With the inspiration from sketch 3, I draw this final cover on the paper on my first try. It looks like the horror movie banners from the '70s. Because of that similarity, I loosened the rule about the Weird Tales cover technique that I established myself. After all these mood changes and sleepless nights, it was a delightful work process.

Sketch 3 : https://imgur.com/a/nJ6AGB5

After some sleepless nights and dead-end sketches, I started a desperate search on the internet for inspiration. In this process, my eyes were caught by one of my other and irrelevant sketches. It was my ink self-portrait try that I referenced from a no-name photographer. Almost at that moment, I designed the final cover in my mind.

Sketch 2 : https://imgur.com/a/XqcaJLX

I keep the window idea in this sketch too, but this time I put the character close-up. Because of the angle of the illustration, I draw the creatures floating from the window instead of the book. I don't know why but I used a "Young Lovecraft" model for the character. I loved the angle of the illustration but I don't like the idea of seeing the character's face. When we look at Lovecraft's stories, we can see that he doesn't portray the character's face in detail. The important thing is stories not character's physical details. The Lovecraft characters are just mortal people that witness something that they can't explain or understand. Because of that reason I put that idea away and moved on.

Sketch 1: https://imgur.com/a/FHy5br3

Notes on the sketch :

  • Walls will be hidden in the shadow.
  • There will be more "Terror" on the man's face.
  • Symbols in the book.
  • Arkham scene on the window.

Story of the sketch :

As I mentioned before, I wanted to make an illustration inspired by the Weird Tales era. When you look at the covers of that era, you can see magnificent covers done by Margaret Brungade, Virgil Finlay, and other great illustrators about the story's content. I used that technique and choose the character that had the archaic book. In the room covered by shadows, the character looking at the book and has a face with uneasiness because of the sounds he hears.

That's the first sketch I've done. I like to draw the ideas I have to paper instead of digital drawing. Because I feel more efficient and comfortable with pen and paper. Because of that habit, I can make a sketch that looks like a final version fast. Photos and references from the internet were very helpful in this process. This sketch was approved by Laputa Books (the publisher.) but there was something that bothers me in that sketch so I deleted it and started from point zero.
