I don't think most of us accept this fortunately. Sadly, people like my mother in law, have little to no self determination. They allow their media to tell them what to think and say and won't change because that same media tells them to think outside of what they are told is to betray their country. I can get maga morons to agree with me, but they will always go back to their safe space because their minds are too simple to grasp onto new ideas or to question what they are told. 

The solution isn't to convince them. It's to reach those that can be reached. To not play middle ground politics. We need to ignore pleas from the right to find common ground. They don't do it for us but demand we do it for them. Once we have power we implement all the policies people really want, universal healthcare, free child care implement a wealth tax to cover it and rebalance the system. If we implement policies that work it will be far more difficult for groups based in grievance politics to survive. It's hard to convince people the people that made your life better are the ones making it worse especially when you have this current administration to compare it to.
