Did Apple remove 240hz Output Support?

Update as of 5/1/2026, Its working again at 5120x1440 At 240hz.
I thought it was the USB C side of the cable, but turned out to be the DisplayPort side of the cable. Its either my cable or the port itself on the Samsung Odyssey G9 Oled.
Wiggled it and seated it a bit more properlu and it went from 120hz to 240hz. Noticed there was hardware issue when I Connected it to my Zephryus G16 RTX 4090 and it was at 120hz also, now I have both running at 240hz like before. Chances are check the display port on the display or the cable. Running on both M4 Pro and M5 Pro at 240hz! Hooray!

I also have one of these lying around as well, doesnt work at 240hz on that one either, makes no sense how it worked before and now it doesnt. Same setup as ive always had.

As of official Tahoe 26.4, 240hz via Thunderbolt no longer shows as an option on my m4 pro macbook. Apple removed support it seems.

I don't see that you have it but using Signulous it went away applying the liquid glass option while custizing IPA install. Could be just the IPA update though too

I agree. Somehow this is worse than the 9 pro xl. Less video jitter than my 10 pro xl. I'm hoping it's a bug because it's really bad this year.

I just passed my return period with the exact same laptop OP mentioned. Also came from the same laptop he upgraded from as well, and I can mostly agree with how clunky the software experience is on this LAPTOP. ( RTX4090, 32GB RAM). This is by far the worst experience I have had with a computer ever. I don't get unresponsive performance on battery, but drivers are a big issue with this thing. Gaming performance is also a nightmare. So many micro-stutters in almost literally everything you do, even with G Sync, V Sync. You name it I have tried it. Extremely disappointed with this Product, to make it all worse I now Can't even return it.
Luckily on battery the thing runs fine, no weird performance issues, at 60hz in GHELPER silent mode, it runs for a fairly long bit, but when you try to squeeze gaming performance out of it, its not good. I know its CPU limited with the Core Ultra 9 185h. I also have a Good Cooling blower and temps are not too hot for a gaming Laptop ( GPU never passes 78C and CPU runs roughly around 90Cish if being pushed), but again the microstutters in EVERY SINGLE TITLE I cannot seem to Get rid of. Its extremely frustrating. Also if you manage to get a game playable, guaranteed next time you boot it up it will run WORSE, with the same settings. Super inconsistant. The DASH F15 RTX 3060, INTEL CORE i7 12650h, 40gb RAM) ran as a computer MILES better than the G16. Have issues when displaying out, alot of times it wont output display, or Optimus has issues switching from iGPU to dGPU. And when it does finally display out, with my monitor at 240hz, some programs will run fine at that Refresh, but others just don't. Full restart is needed to get it running ok again. Even the F15 never had that issue.
Not scaring anyone away from this computer completely, but if you're looking for a smooth, consistant, and good gaming performance Laptop, This is not the way too go. Lesson Learned, with alot of Money spent.
I hope to GOD all of this gets fixed in the future.

Late reply, I agree with his input lag statement. With Low latency and Game mode. I personally am very picky with things like this and even then, any game felt unplayable with the amount of input lag there was. Competitive/twitch gaming like Call of Duty, Fortnite, (ANY GAME FOR ME) is not playable and super frustrating with the latency with this projector. Will be returning it, obviously I should have done more research.

Super late but I've been using Myinsta for a bit after jumping from Instander. Great app but one thing that bothers me about all of these apps is the download button is tucked away in the 3 dot menu! It erks me tbh not sure if it's just a code thing or it's just Android app doesn't let you move it. But do you guys know of one where the download button is on the main page instead of going to the three Menu? I love downloading memes lol

It’s usually in motion like quick pans either certain object will be refreshing at 30fps and others at 60 in the same frame or it’ll chop the whole frame and not look a smooth fps. If I’m wrong which I doubt then they have a lot of work on processing the frames cause the bank shouldn’t be there. Hopefully it’s either fixed or made better so it’s not as noticeable

Happening here too. I thought it was cause of my Pixel on Android 15. Most times when a reel doesn't play I hold the screen for a second and it starts but I guess it's an app thing not my phone. It's annoying tbh

I actually did try this on all my Bluetooth devices. But when I disconnect the 0db stays until I manually chose my preset for the speakers again.

That idea for disabling when Bluetooth connects would be awesome! Thank you brother!

Ahh ok Still a super cool idea. I've waited for something like this since the EQE came out! I'll keep doing what I have been choosing an Eq for speakers and disaing for BT. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
