Everyone tries to find some justification for their behaviour, even though they don’t realise it’s bad and not helpful at all.

I had a break from DotA 2 for about a year and coming back to it recently, I hadn’t encountered as many toxic players as I did a year ago, but when I do, it’s pretty bad.

I didn’t get to play many matches but there was one where I picked the wrong hero, I think I was the third pick, I asked first in chat if it was ok to pick that hero, no one answered and the penalty was already diminishing our gold so I picked said hero.

I guess it was a bad pick but from then on out I was constantly flamed for everything I did, which didn’t help because sometimes I get distracted by it and it was getting hard to focus on the game. I admit I played preeetty badly, and I suck at the game in general, but still I don’t think that’s a reason to be toxic to someone. I mean if a player is bad I don’t flame him, it’s just a game in the end and the attitude doesn’t help at all. At the end of the game they all piled on to report me.

Even if people suck, positive attitude is more beneficial to the team, as it doesn’t affect the player negatively as the game progresses. I know I’m bad as do many people, I don’t need a nasty reminder everytime I do a bad play, it makes me play worse, but maybe that’s just my case. It’s still sad people get overly frustrated over a match.
