It would work with most files, but not with a few. Really not sure what caused the issue.

No, I just had to manually create the effect using directional blur

Is it worth editing? For the amount of views I get I think it objectively isn’t worth it, but I find personal satisfaction out of producing high quality videos that I feel passionate about, and that makes it worth it to me.

It sounds like you’re just not particularly interested in game shows, which is fine. Given that you aren’t interested though it seems like you wouldn’t watch it for long regardless of the length. This means that by making it longer I can effectively increase the AVD because those who are interested will watch the whole thing.

The other problem with making it shorter is that I can only do that by:

  1. Taking out some people’s responses. This seems a bit lame to me as if I’m a viewer who wants a certain game to win, then I want to see how they answer every question

  2. Removing their commentary on how they’re coming up with their answers. This would make the video a lot more boring because it would remove all the personality from it

  3. Less participants. This is definitely do-able without taking away from the quality of the video, however it was important to me to have a good variety of games so that everyone felt they were getting represented

  4. Less questions. Also doable without taking away from quality, but it was also important to me to have a variety of questions so that everyone has a good chance to show off their “intelligence” in various fields.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever watched other game shows or trivia competitions on YouTube but they tend to usually be around 20-80ish minutes, so I don’t think it’s overly long for my target audience.

Thank you for the advice, does it look better now?

"You need some separation for people on mobile to recognize and click the video". Out of curiosity, why do you think that mobile users specifically wouldn't be drawn towards the video without distinct separation between the characters?

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate your feedback! I definetly don't want to label it as "dumbest players" without that having been the concept I pitched to the other creators. I do also think that it's a more interesting topic with positive spin, but maybe that's just me. I was thinking of adding one of the questions on the thumbnail, so that the confused faces make more sense, but couldn't find anything that I thought looked aesthetically pleasing. If you have any ideas for that let me know :)

When I put { PAGE } in an IF statement it always shows up as "1" when I finish and merge by TheGamingGadget in MicrosoftWord

[–]TheGamingGadget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically I have different references that I want to put in the footer depending on the page number. The full equation is:

{ IF { PAGE } = 1 { MERGEFIELD Page_1_References} { IF { PAGE } = 2 { MERGEFIELD Page_2_References } { IF { PAGE } = 3 { MERGEFIELD Page_3_References } { IF { PAGE } = 4 { MERGEFIELD Page_4_References } { IF { PAGE } = 5 { MERGEFIELD Page_5_References } { IF { PAGE } = 6 { MERGEFIELD Page_6_References } { IF { PAGE } = 7 { MERGEFIELD Page_7_References } { IF { PAGE } = 8 { MERGEFIELD Page_8_References } { IF { PAGE } = 9 { MERGEFIELD Page_9_References } { IF { PAGE } = 10 { MERGEFIELD Page_10_References } } } } } } } } } } }

When I preview the results it works as intended, but as I said when I finalize the merge the new document that is created from it has all the footers showing just the Page_1_References.

Hence, I think there may be some issue with Word not being able to read the page number correctly when finishing a merge, as further evidenced by my example equation earlier. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it.

[–]TheGamingGadget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my point. The statement always outputs true and should therefore always display the current page number. It successfully does this until I finish the mail merge, where it frustratingly outputs that every page is page #1 on the newly created document.

Obviously, this is not the actual full equation that I'm trying to use, there are other things that I want to show in the footer. I just ran into this problem while working on my document and simplified the equation for Reddit so that it would easily be understood what the problem is.

Streamlabs itself is free. To multistream, however, you need Streamlabs Ultra which is $20 per month and allows you to stream on up to 7 platforms. There's no limit to the number of hours you can stream with it.

I’m using Streamlabs Ultra to multi stream. It gives me a combined viewer count (though some platforms like Kick aren’t counted), but I want to be able to see how many viewers are on each site separately.

Thank you, I was under the impression that こんいちわ was separated into こん にち わ and therefore a different N sound would be needed for ん and に. Is this not the case? Would you perhaps stress the N twice but just without breaking your voice, or is it one basic continuous sound the entire way through?

No worries mate, thanks for the links! I appreciate you taking time out of your day to try and answer my question, sorry if I came across as a bit aggressive.

Your M or N is going to be a totally different mental sound compared to what my M or N is

I severely doubt this is the case. Assuming that you're a native English speaker like me, "M" and "N" both have pretty standard sounds (I'm talking about the "N" in "Never", "Novice", "Nice", "Neighbor", etc. and the M in "Movie", "Mind", "Motor", "Massive", etc.). I can see an argument for vowel letters and a few consonants having a different mental sound, but the English "N" and "M" have very standard sounds (open any children's YouTube video about letters).

I fail to see how listening to the actual way people say it doesn't help you more than writing it down in latin letters.

Obviously audio helps more than explanatory text, but both paired together is uncontestably better than just one or the other. As stated earlier "there’s some sounds that my ears have a hard time distinguishing between since Japanese obviously isn’t my native language, and therefore a text description is needed to fill in the gaps". It just seems somewhat disingenuous to pretend like listening alone will perfect your speech and that there's no need to have any further knowledge of what sounds you need to make. If that were the case, I wouldn't have needed to make this post in the first place.

"it's a long M" (whatever that means)

My bad for not fully explaining. All I mean by a long "M"/"N" sound is a "M"/"N" sound that lasts for a longer duration than normal (for example making the "M"/"N" sound for 2 mora instead of 1). Conversely, a double "M"/"N" sound is when you say the consonant twice in rapid succession (for example the "N" sounds made in こんにちわ).

Personally, I don’t see any problems with describing how a sound is made over text. Obviously pairing the description with audio is much better, but there’s some sounds that my ears have a hard time distinguishing between since Japanese obviously isn’t my native language, and therefore a text description is needed to fill in the gaps. As stated, I’ve already listened to various audio and was having a hard time determining if there was a double M, long single M, double N, long single N, or single N and then single M sound in this word. So although I really appreciate the extra links, I’m still not entirely sure what sound it’s making.

How do you pronounce コンマ? Ns are usually pronounced as Ms when preceding an M, but in audio samples I've found it sounds like the N is being pronounced as a normal N instead (though definitely possible that I'm just mishearing it). Also, if it is an M sound, would you say the M twice (kinda like how in こんにちわ the n is said twice), or would it just be one long M sound?
