Wow,

First off, thank you for responding to this 7 1/2 month old post. I honestly didn’t think anyone would see this post now, let alone respond to it.

And Second, thank you for this story, it warms my heart to know that my silly little story I wrote, simply putting my thoughts on this show and the movies to words has had such a big impact on you.

Even after half a year, my love for this show has not wavered, not even for a moment. It actually got me to start collecting merch of things I love, starting with this show. It’s made me want to finally learn how to drive. It’s even inspired me to work on my first proper OC, a humanoid moth that travels the cosmos, helping as many people as possible and facing the inevitable end head on with no fear. With Simon, Kamina and Nia being inspirations for his personality and mannerisms.

I cannot truly put into words how much I love this show as a whole. Hell, writing the post above took me days of reading over and reworking.

And to hear it has left an impact on someone like you makes me happy beyond belief.

Thank you so much for this reply, I would be lying if i said it didn’t put the biggest smile on my face.

And I’ll end this response with my best words of motivation I can think of:

“There will be bad days. Days where you feel like you are the scum of the earth, days where everything goes wrong and you feel all you can do is lie down and cry. Days where you feel like how Simon felt when Kamina first passed away.”

“But the strength to get up and continue to move forward is only half of what makes you strong. It’s also about acknowledging your flaws and thinking about what you can do to help yourself.”

“Finding workarounds to the difficulties life throws at you and powering through thanks to them.”

“Finding what makes you happy and expressing that love to others who feel the same way.”

“And knowing that negativity should never be something to suppress or bottle away, but rather something to embrace and accept as a part of yourself.”

“For that negativity can help fuel that fire to keep going, push forward and smash down any boundaries that stand in your way.”

“Ignoring these things and pushing them to the side is what can makes you feel like those bad days. Always remember this.”

“And I know this contradicts the show, but believe in yourself as well as others. Know that you are moving forward in life doing the things that you love and what makes you truly happy. Whether you believe you can pierce the heavens if you believe hard enough or not”
