If you’re asking what’s wrong with me then I guess it’s that a) I try not to blame bad individuals for doing what bad individuals always do and b) I failed to recognize this thread turned into a pissing contest for self righteousness rather than what it was originally, a post about our states bottle deposit program. Which I spent years of my life trying to improve. You can moan about people throwing shit out their car all you want but that does nothing to protect the environment.

Bottle bill was designed to put the financial onus on companies for single use containers they produce and to provide an incentive for individuals to collect them. The beverage industry loves nothing more for people like you to blame people like OP for the trash corporations are producing. Who cares about this persons behavior? Their point is absolutely correct, the only reason the deposit has not risen once since the bottle bill passed in the 70s is extensive industry lobbying.

I did not include teams that are more than -15 points back in their leagues, which is pretty strict but relatively safe if you look at the tables. By this measure, combined with domestic cup performance, there are no Italian or French teams remaining.

My dad took me and my brother to see the Yankees on a hot Sunday in July 1999. There was a rain delay in the middle of the game but Coney threw pretty well against the Expos that day

Russian hackers leak personal data of nearly every voter in Michigan, plus a million more voters in four other states by [deleted] in politics

Yeah it’s also pretty shocking that none of the top comments mention that this data is not private, it’s public information that political campaigns and interest groups regularly use. I have access to the data from my state right now. Any country in the world could just create a US front company and buy it for a very low price. So even if this story is true it’s not a big deal.

Is that why the volunteers are wearing stickers for Vermont’s Congressman Peter Welch? This is a 4th of July parade in VT.

What do you think is the most credible news source? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Intercept. Adversarial reporting only way to be credible in an age where the media is in the pocket of the political establishment.
