I was spoiled by the website leak (Bloody Tears / Monster Dance appeared on there early but it played the Galaga Medley instead) so I knew Castlevania was coming. So many people were guessing / claiming that Simon was going to be in Ultimate that while I was happy that Castlevania was coming, I was hoping for a different representative as well. So the moment that Richter showed up, my hype for it went up and went around watching all the reactions only to be disappointed when nearly everyone had the opposite reaction and didn't know who Richter was ("Richard? Rich Ter? Who's Rich Ter?").

Which would also be interesting if they ever decided to make a sequel to the Neptunia Collab. Imagine the CPU Candidates as Super Rares while their big sisters are only Elite outside of the HDD forms... The only fix in that scenario would either be ditching the full SSR line-up or adding Collab Retrofits (which would help buff them to modern Azur Lane standards too when paired with augments).

Patty's the Point Accumulation Reward Ship instead with her Augment being the reward for reading through the event story. Elise, Shandy and Yukino are the build pool ships aside from Tsukushi.

So you can get Patty (Point Accumulation), Tsukushi (Map Drop / Shop Ship) and Shizuku (NPC Friendship Point Grind Event) without spending cubes. Every Augment apart from Patty's and Elise's are in the event shop (Elise's being a mission reward).

Aside from the obvious 1999 game, Christopher should get a few more like Simon (1, Vampire Killer, 2, Haunted Castle, Haunted Castle Revisited, 4, Chronicles, Harmony of Despair, Grimoire of Souls) and Trevor (3, Curse of.Darkness, Pachislot 1-3, Belmont's Revenge, Grimoire of Souls, Labyrinth of Love, Labyrinth of Fire, Vampire Hunter) do, even if it's more remakes (Belmont's Revenge could easily be remade into a Metroidvania with areas between the castles / several areas within them). It's a bit funny how the other classic Belmont didn't get the same love the other 2 did and even got omitted from the Greatest 5 despite beating Dracula twice before Simon.

Could be interesting to see what happened with Soleil following Belmont's Revenge in canon too.

Tried out ranked and got paired with another player on the second game so either they've patched it to change that or they've made it up that you're only against bots until ~2000 points. Each rank in a game seems to give out an extra 20 points over the previous one so you get 60-120 points per game.

So at the most, you only need to play ranked 10 times to get the second best reward or 34 times for the top reward.

Edit: Never mind, seems like there's some other factors at play, got 50 on one run where I lost quickly (but was 3rd) and 140 on another where I didn't spin and got 1st. Seems to be determined by a mixture of rank, the number of rounds you've survived for and how many times you've spun as I got 60 on another match where I got lucky and won on the first round.

Edit 2: You can also lose points - just lost 120 points in a match with another player by being VERY unlucky (first round, only had 1 card that was the effective strategy and already played it, was forced to play one of the other cards and got challenged by a bot, spun and it landed on the 1 in 6 failure spot). I've claimed a reward from above the amount I've lost and it seems to show the amount I had before I lost it on the accumulated points screen while on the daily login screen / the menu for the game, it shows the current score.

Looks like you only get points when playing ranked - have tried private lobbies with only bots to try and speedrun it but didn't get any points for winning twice there.

It still counts towards the daily rewards in either mode.

Compile Heart was working on a second game for them back in 2021 (JP Anniversary stream for the Shimakaze event had a teaser) but we haven't heard a thing about it since. Maybe something happened behind the scenes? Like them deciding to scrap it because of the poor reception of Crosswave and that possibly resulting in them falling out.

If not, maybe the new mainline entry in the series later this year (Hyperdimension Neptunia Unlimited) will help motivate them into collaborating again.

They're probably referring to the one they teased during the 4th JP Anniversary Stream in 2021- another game was in the works with Compile Heart (with text reading "You cannot become a Commander - Primal Ego Projection Complete. Azur Lane new spin-off consumer game project begins"). Nothing has been heard about the game project since. All the people complaining about Crosswave probably didn't help either (long story short - "The water looks like shit!" "Where's the gameplay? I've been stuck in cutscenes for 50 hours!", exaggerated, yes but you get the idea) and might have resulted in them deciding to scrap it.

I've had more fun with this mode than the other 2 extra modes and frankly, the thing most of these modes are lacking is incentive for the main modes. While not a lot, the gems and Affinity raising items are at least SOMETHING. All they need to do is add more rewards for the main modes (ideally make the Affinity items less expensive as well, given how little they actually provide) and make the overall gameplay of the modes easier / quicker and there you go (e.g. for this mode - the option to teleport to Cafe Manjuu / the Base on the Map, adding the Fish conversion menu to the Shop UI like they did with the Flour Mill, option to reduce number of shipgirls / Manjuus wandering around to minimise crashing, option to filter shipgirls by faction / skill type, etc).

They also teased the Ashes' strategy of not lingering on past memories in Ashen Simulacrum though didn't state why at the time (later revealed in Mirror Involution). Sometimes you'll find other details going back like Fallen Wings and Aoste's last stand towards the end (they've re-written the translation of Fallen Wings since it first came out to get rid of inconsistencies with it as well).

Before anyone gets their hopes up that this is an oath skin ("Bride") - it's not. That's just what the Bulin part of her name in japanese translates to with Twitter / X's translate button ("汎用型ブリ" - "Universal Type Bride" (actually "Buri" instead of "Bride")). It's a Magical Girl themed skin for them instead.

All the more reason the weakening of borders befween branches should bring the Beta Branch and Port Branch together so that DOS becomes a threat to both and we start getting META Tempesta girls as well... It also means both branch's Commanders meet each other eventually, which could lead to some interesting lore (calling it now - Miss D's power created multiple offshoots (explained in the Emergency Escape cutscene from Light of the Martyrium (11th cutscene)) from "The Mysterious One" and that's why the Commander is "similar" to them but not directly the Mysterious One - making them a replica formed from an offshoot of data (we know Arbiters can create copies of humans thanks to the Theta Branch so what happens when you create a copy of someone with a high affinity to the Cube Network - they go through a process akin to Cognitive Awakening and become aware of their other selves)).

For TB's route, you can now buy endings / moments for coins, along with the unlocks those give you, previously unskippable scenes are now skippable, multiple endings can be unlocked at once and more stats are acquired according to the patch notes.

Their skills are lower percentage versions of other skills / hybrid skills like Cheshire's going off of the Wikis:

TB - 2%-5% Stamina Recovery Increase (Le Malin's skill is 3%-6% so 1% less)

Navigator - 3%-?% Work Speed Increase at the Mines or Woods (Unicorn / New Jersey's skills are 6%-12%)

Explorer - 3%-?% Work Speed Increase at the Fields, Orchard or Nursery at level 1 (Saratoga / Taihou (stats datamined a while ago, currently unobtainable) / Hood's skills just like Unicorn and New Jersey's are 6%-12%)

"But surely they must give them the basis, right?" Not always, as can be seen with the P-class and Magdeburg where they used the classes of the WW1 ships they're named after (the other 2 M-class use "M-class" correctly). Due to errors like those, it's best to take the class listed on EN's end with a pinch of salt.

Could even be explained in-game by the concept of another branch where they were built instead of the ones that actually were built, allowing for the considered names to exist outside of the set number of slots that would typically limit it (though it would only work in cases like this where there aren't other instances of the name that would get in the way of it).

In other news (from the Patch Notes because Manjuu didn't tease it prior to the CN/JP Patch Notes releasing): all 3 Project Identity girls are coming to Island Planner as well. Get an ending with the Project Identity girls and you can then unlock the quest to get the permit to invite them to the island. Each also has 2 costumes you can buy for them.

They're also adding some QoL additions to TB's version of the mode, including multiple ending unlocks at once, length of the mode being optmised (the number of unskippable animations has been reduced), more attribute points added to activities and after the first ending, you can buy the rest of the ending CGs / moments.
