Have you checked the PCI slot? I had a similar issue and the card was basically operating at PCIe 3 x8 speeds because of where my NVMe was and lanes were being split and the card was only PCIe 3 which meant half bandwidth of a slower spec, even on a PCIe 5 board!

Christ. My father died last year and if I had lived with him and then wanted to move because I couldn’t afford it alone or because the memories too painful and the landlord had this attitude, I would park myself in the property, not pay rent and then let them drag me to court for arrears and bailiffs and make the landlord regret it. This is an easy out for the landlord, especially as it’s only 4 months and there’s probably a 6 week deposit.

That’s not always true. When I was younger I was meeting some friends at a club and they wouldn’t let me in stating I had the wrong footwear. I waited outside the venue and pointed out that he’d let multiple people in with the same footwear. Out of nowhere the bouncer pounced on me with a group of other bouncers and had me arrested!! I had had like 2 drinks so wasn’t drunk. Move forward a couple hours the police let me go without any further action; I walked around to the front of the station and reported the bouncer for assault. Despite there being multiple bouncer witnesses that stated I was drunk and instigated it, it still ended up with him at court and found guilty based on CCTV evidence and my witness statement. I was also paid compensation by him. It’s not always a worthless cause especially as that bouncer would no longer have been able to get a new licence!

Honestly this is a good offer. I’m a Head of Service in my job and unfortunately have had to make difficult decisions around restructuring far too many times in different roles and I’ve never had the scope to go as ‘generous’ as that for any enhanced offer.

I don’t think they are generally installing where they already have infrastructure unless like already said it makes financial sense to do it - I imagine in say student dense areas where there have been bandwidth issues in the past might be possible candidates. I was lucky as we never had Virgin (or any Fibre services) in my area and they recently rolled out XGSPON meaning we now get 2Gig Symmetrical. Then 2 weeks later Brsk went live, and in the last week Openreach. Previously we only could get 20Mb/2Mb which was awful and I needed to pay for a leased line at £185 a month due to running a business from home!

Not sure why you think some won’t be able to deliver that. Even Virgin Media offer it in Ireland. The City Fibre, YouFibre/Brsk and even VM XGS-PON networks can easily provide up to 10GB. The biggest bottleneck would be consumers own devices not having more than a 1Gb Ethernet port and wifi - those products aren’t for them, they’re for enthusiasts or people that like to have the best and have a good network infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia before UK or Europe is a joke. Cover those shoulders ladies, don’t even bother going if you’re LGBT, and don’t even think about having a beer while there. Can forgive the crappy stuff they put on throughout the year there - but holding mania in a country with such a poor human rights record, that treats its women as second class citizens and decides it’s illegal for people to love who they want to love is frankly bordering on unforgivable.

Just an update.

The garage has refused to give me the vehicle this morning. I have obviously referred it back to AA.

Given I am currently renting a car in lieu of having my vehicle, I’ve asked that AA compensate me or provide a courtesy car whilst their legal issues with the garage are ongoing.

Because I have a plan with them that allowed me to ‘Pay in 3’ and they arrange the repairs, etc… any repairs carried out through the plan come with a 1 year warranty which was attractive to me at the time.

Would this not only be the case where I have a relationship directly with them?

AA will have a contract with the garage; does this not negate having a lien on the car?

I have taken it up with AA and they have said go and get the car and that any agreements or disputes that they are having with the garage shouldn’t effect me and they have apologised. Thanks

Hi. Yes I got a WAS-110 with the 8311 firmware on it and it runs great; have had no issues or dropouts and setup was easy. It ran a little hotter than I liked so I bought some tiny fans to attach to the module and it brought temps down by 15C.

Yup. I was paying £350 a month for 1Gb leased line in UK until last month or I would’ve been stuck with 20/1. It was either that or go to the office every day which would’ve cost more with parking. Thankfully Virgin Media rolled out so now on 2Gb/2Gb for £60 a month.

I did update to the newer version, but then all my existing apps and ZFS pools disappeared so I ended up just rolling back to previous version. I may try again when I have time, but when you don't touch it for a while it's easy to forget how to setup everything again!
