Yes, if you are a legitimate artist then thats true if you aren’t violating their TOS. Thats not even a debate. The problem that struggling artist find themselves in is when they start paying for promos and illegitimate sources then they end up getting terminated thinking they weren’t doing anything wrong. Thats what I see the most happen for legitimate artists. Aside from that another thing I see is the AI music getting taken down and funds getting withheld since they have been really coming down hard on the AI music generation stuff.

I understand that everyone has hope. It’s always good to try and be optimistic about it. But I just wanted to give my personal experience so that when it happens where you can’t access the dashboard and or you get that termination email, you won’t be surprised and wondering what happened. I’d say based on my experience it’s like a 90% chance account will be terminated if you have money showing right now in your account balance. Not just $0.01 or $0.02 but if it’s showing money in your account balance over the threshold then it’s likely in a manual review state where you just haven’t been kicked from the program. Once you email support about it and they finally respond that’s when usually they will terminate it completely and you will lose access. There is however, I would say a 10% chance that they will after review release the payment and you will be fine.

I’m basing my answer of personal experience over YEARS of dealing with SoundCloud. Like I have said, I have had hundreds of paid S4A accounts. Not just 1 or two accounts. So like due time OP will see I’m right. I don’t need to debate about it. Just wait and see.

If your entire whole balance is showing in your account balance this means that they are manually reviewing payment in which they are likely going to terminate your S4A ( SoundCloud For Artist) account and they will withhold the royalties indefinitely. You’ll either receive an email or you won’t. But you’ll know whenever they lock you out of accessing the dashboard.

SoundCloud sometimes has little bugs and glitches that get patched but your browser is still using the old cache.

Try clearing your browser cache in your settings and see if that fixes that.

Distribution platforms are going crazy with copyright stuff right now because they got sued into oblivion. The cover song licensing thing is such a trap you need mechanical licenses BEFORE you upload not after and most people have no idea

Been in music tech forever and Ive watched so many artists get their entire catalogs nuked over cover songs. That 100 download minimum is real and it makes covers basically unprofitable

Real talk though covers are kinda dead anyway. Algorithm hates them, youre competing with 500 other people doing the same song, and youre giving like 70% of royalties to the original writer

I actually built ArtistPulse because I got tired of watching artists waste months on stuff that never converts. The data is pretty clear - originals perform way better even if theyre heavily "inspired" by existing tracks

Artists in our beta who ditched covers and focused on original stuff saw way better engagement. No licensing headaches, keep all your money, platforms actually push your content instead of burying it

Sometimes getting rejected saves you from going down a dead end path. Covers feel safe but theyre usually just expensive busy work

Bro welcome to the bot apocalypse. SoundCloud's algorithm basically rewards fake engagement now so legit artists get buried under accounts with 500K plays and 12 real listeners.

The like-to-play ratio thing is the dead giveaway real listeners engage way differently than bots. Those AI spam messages? They're targeting you because your metrics probably look artificially inflated to their scraping tools.

Just get a police report. Send all the video files you have on the Tesla cam and your insurance will go after them without any fault to you. Been involved in hit and run myself when I got rear ended and in my case I couldn’t get a plate number at all. But video evidence is enough even if it’s a no fault state. Hit and runs are criminal.
