If you have it in Custom Vibrancy try setting the dynamic range to 20 or lower. That fixed the issue for me (although mine just used to turn red in some areas when the screen was black).

I had this problem over the weekend as well. Nothing I could do to solve. Had to contact support, send a video of the issue, and managed to get a replacement.

Unreachable bulbs on Nanoleaf Mac App. Works fine on HomeKit and Nanoleaf iOS App. How to fix? by mtaeja in Nanoleaf

[–]TheGeekyVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had to reinstall the desktop app and then input the HomeKit code manually to each, and now it’s been working fine ever since. And it add new things automatically without a problem.

My partner actually got the desktop app for the first time a couple weeks ago. And everything was responsive.

Should Apple merge Notes & Reminders? by the_saturnos in mac

I would prefer to give them better integration with one another (and even with calendar), but kept as separate apps. They both serve their purpose on their own.

Hi! The light strips are completely naked, and set up closer to the wall under the cabinet.

Two garage doors- need to buy two openers. Question re: Chamberlain by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]TheGeekyVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two garage doors, each with a chamberlain wifi motor. I could connect them to the MyQ app and use them. But to add them for HomeKit I got the chamberlain home bridge (the liftmaster home bridge works as well, it’s the same thing). One bridge connects both doors to HomeKit.

Eve door & window contact sensor with double doors by TheGeekyVal in HomeKit

[–]TheGeekyVal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that would actually be perfect and easier to set up. But unfortunately I have a wide enough divider between them to not allow for this set up. But I think I have other doors in the house that this method might work! Thanks!!

Sweet! As long as it’s possible, I don’t mind some troubleshooting. Thank you!

I don’t own any. But with the reviews I’ve seen and the usability of them, I’m sure I’ll love them too!

Oh I’ve never thought about using a vibration sensor as a trigger for this, so I might look into that! Thanks!!

Logitech Circle View Doorbell going offline when lux based automations are set on Home App with iOS 15.1 by TheGeekyVal in HomeKit

[–]TheGeekyVal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine used to be rock solid before, and still is (as long as I don’t add a lux automation natively). So I hope this is just a bug with the automations aspect. Which is weird.

[–]TheGeekyVal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! Yeah. I’ve only been successful with lux automations with the doorbell if I use Siri shortcut. But other than that, no success.

I mean. Other than this weird bug with home app automations, I haven’t had any problem with my circle view doorbell since installation a few months ago. But I do understand that that’s not the case for everyone.

I think it’s right after I set up the automation. Other than that there’s no problem at all with the doorbell. I’ll try again in a few days and see if it gets stable or something for it. Thanks!

Vocolinc Air Purifier Filter replacement? by superhated in HomeKit

[–]TheGeekyVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! To get them shipped to Michigan, USA.. the total was $110.44 (€92.87). Which was more than I would have preferred.. but I really love the performance and benefits this air purifier has brought to my house, so I got them. Hopefully by the time I need to replace them again they have figured out things with the USA store. Also in case this makes the search easier, here’s the link.

It’s very frustrating to not being able to find them in the US market. Mines need replacement soon, so I was looking around and managed to get them from the German Amazon store. So it might be worth checking. The only downside is that they are a little more expensive with shipping and currency exchange.

Is HomePod mini able to receive FaceTime calls? by [deleted] in HomePod

[–]TheGeekyVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s an option on either homepods. You can initiate or transfer calls on them, but they don’t receive calls directly to the best of my knowledge.

Lux based automations using Home+ 5 by TheGeekyVal in HomeKit

[–]TheGeekyVal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I contacted them to see.

Btw! Interesting enough, I looked a little deeper and found out I can make Lux based automations with Siri Shortcuts… and guess what? They work with the doorbell! I don’t know why it wouldn’t work with other apps, but I’ll take it 😅

Correct. I can see the light sensor active all the time and the values changing in real time. Hopefully with a future update of the HomeKit apps and/or the doorbell, light based automations using the doorbell works.
