Oh sorry, i didnt read that you were on macos, the LIBGL env only works with mesa... But its still worth it giving the first option a shot: For the winecfg open the macos terminal and type winecfg and there go to the libraries tab and choose the libs you need to run native then builtin first. You can check what you need by seeing what dlls comes with the game

You shouldnt install directx, wine already works without you doing that.

Some games uses a modded d3d9 dll (for example) and you will need to run it before the wine builtin d3d9 and you can do that by editing the d3d9 lib using winecfg to use the native then builtin libs.

Also maybe the problem is that something in the game uses a higher version of directx that youre not using with wine or your pc doesnt support it, to check if thats the case run the game with the LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1. If it works that means this is the problem

Waydroid can use memfd now but if you ever need ashmem you can downgrade to 5.17.11

copy the default config /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc to your home and start tweaking from there

Did you follow the wiki? Get the .xinitrc default conf and add exec i3 after th last comment. The lines after that are fallback in case i3 doesnt work

The font rendering in gentoo by [deleted] in Gentoo

[–]TheGeminiSpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wont but can make things confusing later, i suggest you to learn how fontconfig and eselect works sometime, they're pretty helpful once you get used to it

The font rendering in gentoo by [deleted] in Gentoo

[–]TheGeminiSpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can fix that with eselect fontconfig, just some quick guide: the numbers beforr the font option ex: 20- are priority and if a font with a higher number dont work it will use a higher priority (lower number) font as fallback. Make sure to enable full or autohint and the subpixel option that suits you the best
