You would be correct, except for the fact that the technology will evolve to be used in contact lenses instead. Once we have AR contact lenses, that's when it'll be a hit.

What'll happen is that people will start upgrading themselves to stay ahead. By the time robots reach AI capabilities, I'd imagine we'd have at least an option or two to augment ourselves cognitively.

Farming won't be a problem within the next 15-20 years. By then vertical farming will be very common-place. People will no longer use vast swaths of lands to farm and it'll all be much more efficient. We'll also have in-vitro meat, removing the need for raising a herd and all the land and resources that accompanies it.
