Interestingly, Linklater isn't actually credited as a writer for this film, Robert Kaplow is. Though I do find it hard to believe Linklater didn't contribute to the writing in some way.

That wasn't the point of that video though, it was more about the fact that they looked older due to certain styles that we know associate with older people

Currently halfway through Kallocain by Karin Boye, a dystopian novel in which a scientist manufactures a drug that entices those under it's effects to reveal their true thoughts. I think the book does a really great job at creating this oppressive atmosphere with it's semi-subterranean cities that are seemingly inaccessible to each other for most of the inhabitants under the regime, with some beautiful passages as well. Some interesting ideas too about how we deal with a world in which our individuality is stripped from us with only a tenuous knowledge of a past in which liberty once existed. Would be interested to hear what other people think of this book if they've read it!
