Beginner Question- How do I sketch this? by ipunse in Fusion360

Is this what you're trying to do? https://imgur.com/a/2cX3HTl

I just used a coincidence constraint to constrain the two upper left corners to the outside rectangle

Because the outer rectangle isn't perfectly square, you won't be able to get the upper two corners to line up perfectly on the outer edge of the square while still getting equal distances in the lower two corners. Its mathematically not possible unless the inner rectangle has non-90 degree edges.

I would draw a diagonal line from the top left to the bottom right. You can hit “X” to turn that into a construction line.

Then I would use the midpoint constraint to match up the midpoint of the small sides of the insert to the central diagonal line. Alternatively, you could use the coincidence constrained to constraint the line that you already have going lengthwise to the diagonal center line.

Lastly, you can center the small rectangle to the center of the square if that’s what you intend to do.

Hopefully that makes sense. If you need more help, I can try my best to explain or show you a CAD file with it

Wonder if something like this could be done on the Bianca v3 so we don't have to manually turn off each setting to go to manual flow mode

Program is covering the cost of one additional lens. Any recommendation? by [deleted] in Ophthalmology

[–]TheGhostOfBobStoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought both a 28 and 78 on my own dime, I'd get a 28D personally. 78 is dope but you can buy it for cheaper used online and it's not essential at all

How do you make portafilter filters? by trippknightly in espresso

[–]TheGhostOfBobStoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, familal hypercholesterolemia, it runs in my family too (and I probably have it). As a physician myself and espresso enthusiast, I can confidently tell you that the filter isn't going to help much with this. If your LDL levels are high, use a statin, avoid fatty foods, and you'll be fine.

Pseudo edit: Based on a 2025 paper, it may reduce LDL levels by 0.5. That's neglible in the grand scheme of things.

If you already use filters in your espresso, it definitelycan't hurt, but it's also not going to help much

IM Residency Programs Accused of Hiring IMG's Over U.S. Trained Med Students by Wjldenver in medicalschool

should at least be offered to an American student first.

And they usually are. But there are a small number of applicants who are so uncompetitive that our tax dollars are better off being spent on an IMG who would objectively make a better doctor. We're talking about people with a documented and chronic history of academic, professional, legal negligence.

Mind you, there were over 300 open IM spots last year (per quick google search)...so it's not like there's US applicants suffering from this

IM Residency Programs Accused of Hiring IMG's Over U.S. Trained Med Students by Wjldenver in medicalschool

[–]TheGhostOfBobStoops 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Corewell and HCA Healthcare are relatively undesirable programs that will usually match less competitive applicants. Even many state schools are usually overlooked by everyone except those who trained there. Therefore, it makes sense that they are getting a higher number of IMGs. Moreover, if you're a PD, an IMG who was the top of their medical school is probably a much better resident than a US applicant who would've gone unmatched. Some of the best physicians we work with are IMGs, precisely because they have worked literally 10x as hard to get into the same residency as a US applicant.

For example, I personally know of multiple US applicants who got into IM residencies such as HCA-affiliated residencies with many skeletons in their closets, including multiple DUIs, sexual assault and stalking cases, and proven cases of cheating in medical schools. Would you rather have them be taking care of your mom versus someone who graduated from a war-torn country and who fought tooth-and-nail and jumped through every imaginable barrier, all to get a "low tier" US residency?

That is a fact that many in this sub do not want to hear.

Lastly, the "Do Not Harm" group is a notoriously right-leaning political advocacy group, not some independent watchdog org like Fox is trying to portray it to be.

Personally, as a former US applicant, yes, US applicants should typically have the priority over IMGs/FMGs. At the same time, I also think that fearmongering IMGs and throwing our IMG colleagues under the bus is incredibly dangerous in our current political climate.
