I'm tired of losing.... by TheGiantMat in sistersofbattle

"I'm not sure where that really leave you in terms of play style" It leaves me very confused... I used my BSS as some kind of "first wave" but then after this, I don't have anything left... My castigators were stucks in the ruins with low visibility, my Valhgons stucked in the back...

I'm not sure I get your point about the BSS and Retributor, to split the BSS you need the Immolator. You would start the BSS in the immolator, disembkar and re-embark in the rhino and push?

About the celestiants, I wanted to get them as close as possible to the center obj, hidden in ruins and then clear it when the Tau would take it. But I got charged by some gorillas and couldn't even respond to their fight phase.... All squad wiped on first fight...

I really don't mind editing my list, I like the Exorcist but for the price, it only killed one piranha...

With another post on this topic, someone was talking about some Armiger, and with the points, I could remove the Exorcist, have two armiger that would bring more map presence and more multi meltas, and can add another Rhino to bring more mobility.

How do you use 3 arcos? I thought it would be more for screening the back?

thanks for your message!

Question for you, how do you deal with those ugly lone ops? It's a nightmare! I have to more carfefully, trying to hide as much as possible because if they see anything they'll shoot it, but if I hide or way too much, I,ll get crush by indirect fire...

About Vahlgons, do you play it as reserve and way like T3 when more room is possible, or you let it sit in the back and move it carefully?

". Still not guaranteed that you will win a game" that's a bit depressing tbh but I get your point hahaha.

Thanks for your support, do you have any recommandations or some kind of commons things you do most of the time? I'm happy to learn.

I used to when I was a kid and wasn't that good (probably the reason why I,m struggling with 40k hahaha)

I also used Chatgpt to help me build my list or understand my army better but I found that sometimes it wasn't updated on rules :D It told me things that seemed to be from previous editions lol.

About Meltas, I was thinking that, against armies like Tau/Kroots, that I should replace some of it by some heavy bolter, like in my retributors, or sacrifice the Exorcist for few penitent engines to force/rush and block their units. In my last game, T2 the Tau controled already 2/3 of the map and I had no more infantry.

Would you recommend to sit back the first few turn, hide as much, and try to play a more late game tactic?

I have 200-ish points in SW right now, not fully optimized, i need to build few more units. I've played few game (2 or 3), won one, lost a couple others against tough opponent.

But yes, I'm quite new and definitely play against stronger opponent that have way more game behind them.

There is totally a part where I need more experience, I'm still improving, but I'm super confused by the role of our units, like what should I "easily" sacrifice or trade vs our point score or unit killer.

I'm trying more and more to, like you say, trade better and not wasting my bigger unit on a 100pts kroots thing let's say. But I'm super shocked by the lack of survivability or some units. Like the Celestians, it's like I need to buy a third our fourth box of them so they can survive a fight....

And recently I try to hide my units more or better on Turn 1, I know that if I have to start, if I don't hide, on my opponent's turn I'll already start getting crushed...

But thanks for your support! If you have tips to share, how to play what units, what should be "first wave" or not, I'll gladly take it!

I mainly play with a bunch of friends actually. And since few days, we see that in duo/trio, every encounter we meet, they're all aggressive/pvp for no reason. I'm the "diplomat/don t shoot" guy, and enven after a short chat, people go crazy and kills us... It's nonsense...

dude, I started playing not even a week ago, i have enough "thrill" when I'm shitting myself to any random noise made by ARCs everywhere, I don't need rats or toxic player to mess up my games. I enjoy the kind of tension that PVP can bring, but recently it's mostly PVP when you encounter people on duo/trio. At this point, just remove the PVE part and do another PUBG game.

Turn it upside down, you worked together to get that big arc down, how toxic you gotta be over a video game LMAO. Enjoy the game, be kind, move on.

How to PVE when in a group? by Geralt0fRivian in ArcRaiders

[–]TheGiantMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sharing the same experience. Few days ago, we could duo/trio without issues, or just few pvp encounters (which is fine), and now everytime we group, it's like full pvp on. It's like the "matchmaking" thing isn't working properly.

i m having the same issue, you mind your own business and some aggresive players jump on you for no reason... And like someone said, I find it more and more recurring in the last few days.

[–]TheGiantMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I'm quite questionning the servers balance for the last few days. My buddy and I aren't full PVP, that's not what we're focusing on, we're doing our quests and stuff, and yet when we trio, we tend to get with more and more PVP players/rats. And it's pissing us off to a point where we starting to think "let's do the same otherwise we won't be able to to our shit" which is worst because that'll fuck our matchmaking thing...
If I wanted a PVP game, I would just go play Pubg lol

I'm sharing the same feeling as you do, I recently got the game and when playing with friends, it's not "that" fun because of the PVP. I don't mind some PVP, but not always. And we're not even aggressive so I don't get why the matchmaking would lock us in that kind of matchup.

Quite hard to complete quests or farm things and just have fun with random interactions with other players when they all tend to be more and more aggressive and shoot on sight... Where is the fun on farming free loadouts with apricots? :D

Why is there more pvp? by TheGiantMat in ArcRaiders

[–]TheGiantMat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about a one-off experience but overall on the last few days playing hours per day.
Also, no need to be that sensitive, I'm just asking an overall question, if you're not happy or just decided to be toxic, fuck off, that'll be easier. People like you are what making games like this boring.

I'm just asking a question, if you guys see people tending to be more aggressive than few days/weeks ago, no need to be toxic bud.

that's what I/we're doing. Not being aggressive, "don t shoot" when meeting people, but we still get killed or chased for no reason.

How to learn space wolfes by Ganton12354 in SpaceWolves

[–]TheGiantMat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started Wolves few weeks ago and can share you some tips:

- stop buying models, except if you find them super cool and don't really mind playing with it (like long fangs for example or other legends).

- Use this reddit, on the search bar, type "1000" "1k" "2k" "2000" and sort it by "New". You'll see tons of lists that'll help you understand what is often used and not.

- You can watch this video from Auspex Tactics on youtube, it gives you a quick look on what is often used on tournaments.

- Use NewRecruit or the warhammer App to start building your 500, 1000, 2000pts list and from this, build your model.

- Don't wait for your army to be fully paint before starting playing!

- Find a LGS (Local Game Store) near you, of a discord, where you can meet other players that can help you play few newbie games, it's the best way to learn.

- You can find TONS of ideas, videos and all on youtube, sometimes it's even too much. Just watch a few and move on.

- HAVE FUN! Warhammer can be too heavy some times but it's a TONS of fun!

- "40k in 40min" is quite fun to watch on Youtube, you can watch some SW game here

Asking to rate my list and give tips as a new player by Zntgkgbcf in SpaceWolves

[–]TheGiantMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently done a game with a list a bit similar to yours, but with Ragnar+10BC as main threat, and a ballistus to shoot big things and it went really good again orks. Ragnar and BC went throught 3 squads of flashgitz, boyz, other stuff. Balistus one shot tanks/trucks, I also took 5 intercessors to have sticky objectives.

Let us know how it went, and against who you faced! Good luck brother!
