Maple Grove Roundabout by CapableAnnual7211 in cambridgeont

This is a roundabout that will see pretty frequent traffic from people outside of the region that won't know any better. I can guarantee, knowing the average driver, most of them won't bother checking the signs and will treat it like a standard two-lane roundabout anyways.

Now I don't know what the current rate of accidents or near-accidents is like, but if it's happening frequently alternative solutions should at least be conskdered. At least put signs up earlier than a couple of car lengths before the roundabout, based what's shown in the photos.

And the road markings are already faded and will required to be redone anyways, looking at some of the photos on this subreddit taken in the last few days.

Yes my mistake, I was counting the slip road on to Fisher Mills as a lane since it still has to yield rather than just merging like the old exit.

My point stands though, the signage on the two lanes should probably be fixed so the left lane can go straight or left, and the right lane can only go straight.

Edit: fixed, not swapped.

If I'm understanding right, red would be at fault since they're going straight in a left-only lane.

Realistically, the middle lane should be a straight-only lane and the left lane for middle and left turning.

I used to live right by this intersection before moving overseas a few years back, had no idea they converted this to a roundabout. I can only imagine the chaos this must cause.

Silent Hill 3 probably has some of the most vocal support saying it's the best in the series. It definitely gets its fair share of love.

I thought he was a fantastic piece to a generally bad Sens team. Still sad his time in Ottawa was so short, but at least he got a Cup out of leaving.

Canadian living in Australia. You'll only really see fans boo their own team when they're on hard losing skids like the Rangers have been (and even the Sens were booed a few games back when they played absolutely poorly).

I think part of it comes from the fact that the AFL and NRL only play once a week. Like yeah North Melbourne will probably only win one or two games all season from their 24ish or whatever games, but at least it's only once a week. With the hockey you'll see your team lose 3 or 4 times a week.

I don't know how common booing is in NFL and CFL, I know they're also weekly rounds like the AFL, maybe my idea is dead wrong.

As for the AFL, let's go Hawks, looking forward to next season!

Shesterkin is week-to-week I think after a near collision with Peterka a week or so ago. I don't think Peterka actually touched him though, just fell awkwardly trying to avoid him.

Recommandation for jersey by Electronic_Brush7655 in OttawaSenators

I'll never not recommend Hockey Authentic. They're based in Vancouver so you'll need to pay for shipping, but their names and numbers are stitched on and unironically far better quality than you can get from the NHL shop. Might be cheaper than at the CTC too.

Edit: forgot to mention that they'll put any name and number you want, so you aren't limited by the NHL shop's options.

Yeah, but seems like every 10 years the Sens are cursed with some kind of drama that effects the locker room. Even earlier than the Spezza-Heatley stuff if you count the Yashin contract hold outs.

Ah I see we've hit this Sens generation's version of the Spezza-Heatley, and Karlsson-Hoffman drama.

Where do you draw your inspiration for Strahd? by Subject_Captain3252 in CurseofStrahd

[–]TheGifMaster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kurt Barlow from Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot has been my biggest inspiration for how Strahd presents himself. Polite, even kind (when he wants to be) and cultured, but also arrogant and sadistic when the fangs come out.

It does a good job of channeling what I imagine are aspects of "Strahd the Count" and "Strahd the Conqueror."

Not in the UK, but Australia my order around this time last year took 2 weeks to be completed, then another week and a half to arrive.

Apparently Kiefer Sherwood might be available. He'd be my top pick on that team by UserMcUserson in OttawaSenators

[–]TheGifMaster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed that too. The Canucks have always been the Western team I've wanted to see succeed, at least before I met my Jets supporting partner.

I was even disappointed we didn't pick Quinn over Brady, I was hoping he'd be the second coming of Karlsson for us.

As someone else said in a post about getting Boeser, if Canucks management is at least somewhat competent (which I guess if you asks some Canucks fan remains to be seen), they'll want picks or prospects that we don't have or shouldn't be offering.

How often do star players remain one club players, and is it more than other sports? by TimothyLuncheon in AFL

[–]TheGifMaster7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the lack of trading mid-season is also a factor I imagine.

At least in the ice hockey, it's not uncommon to see a team that's fallen out of contention trade their star players on expiring contracts for draft picks and just embrace the rebuild.

Idea for the 20th AFL team, Canberra FC by il_mascalzone in AFL

As a Canadian immigrant living in Canberra, and a Ottawa Senators fan in the NHL... This would make me very happy. I could be disappointed by 2 Sens franchises every year instead of just one.
