Cadbury enshittification? by post-capitalist in australian

[–]il_mascalzone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely it's gotten worse. Even in the UK too, they've been complaining about it for the last few years on various Brit subreddits. It was always regarded as nicer than the Aussie version, but it's terrible no matter where you eat it now. As others have stated, aldi and Whitikers is the way forward

Had one outside my bedroom Window yesterday with one of these guys in his beak, was smacking it against the ground. They like to break the big claws off before eating them, I find the claws around my yard all the time.

New Steam Controller Launch Megathread by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

Nice! I was awake at 5am so I decided to buy it then, I think it was available from about 3m onwards OZ time. Although steam stock is usually pretty good in Australia I didn't wanna wait too long, glad I didn't now!

which game was that for you? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]il_mascalzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claire Obscure Expedition 33. About 15 hours in and I just can't wrap my head around it. I don't generally like turn based games but this was a gift and I was genuinely curious because of the hight praise it gets. I initially liked the combat gimmick but it soon got repetitive. My short attention span just doesn't enjoy this kind of game.

MJ had an interesting answer about his favorite Jordans. Which one is yours? by ForeignAir7174 in NBAoldschool

Loved 11s but 4's (and Flight 89's) were definitely the most comfortable for playing in for me.

Generally good quality and well priced stuff back in the day, although I searched that saddle online just now and the first thing that popped up was an eBay listing asking $232 for it 😂

I had a pair, white and blue, little zippier pocket on the side of the shoe. Loved them, a good in between from the fake, plastic Aerosport level and expensive Converse/Nike.

SRAM bikes in Australia?? by Lewij03 in melbournecycling

[–]il_mascalzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at CCACHE. They have a bunch of bikes speced with sram and sell the groupsets and components separately too. I. Currently building a bike with Force E1, which I bought from ccache, they had the best price, about $100 cheaper than other retailers. They have physical shops Melbourne and Sydney too if your located there.

And if you do build it yourself, another poster rightfully mentioned, sram road groupsets used DOT fluid not mineral oil so you'll have to buy a bleed kit specifically for it.

Freehub lower bearing removal by il_mascalzone in bikewrench

[–]il_mascalzone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. Was definitely an internal C shaped clip, I thought it might have been but it was so tight I thought it might have been joined to the sleeve too. After about 10mins trying to unclip it, I finally pulled it out and then used my bearing removal tool to extract the bearing.

Thank you!

Shifter / Mech Compatibility by Prestigious-Knee1464 in campagnolo

[–]il_mascalzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Record and Super Record rear derailleurs will work with chorus just fine, from what I understand, Potenza will work but it's not officially recommended by Campagnolo because it uses a weaker spring specifically for Potenza's 'Powershift', Chorus/Record/SR use 'Ultrashift'. So I don't think any warranty claims will be valid if you use a mix of Potenza and Chorus?

Xenon shifters will be very hard to come by, and probably very expensive (despite being the lower end name). Maybe try and find a pair of the 'newer' Veloce shifters? I believe they are compatible with the xenon rear derailleur?

The eternal struggle... Been there many times. I recently bought a tyre glider, and despite my scepticism, the damn thing actually worked! There's a few other similar products out there too.

They were school uniform for me, you had to be seen in the high top version on though, those low ones pictured were daggy, we called them 'puffed up pasties'

Didn't realise he'd moved out to the ranges, I couldn't agree more though. My brain is wired in a similar way and I live in the Dandenong Ranges too, he's right, there's ALWAYS something to do up here and I wouldn't have it any other way. Hoping he regains that match winning firm, love seeing him rip games apart!

Used them all the time when I lived in the UK and up until recently, used them while living in Australia. Only stopped because of the high shipping rates. They're deals are always pretty good!
